My Mom, who has been real heavy in my thoughts lately. When I see her it hurts cause I can feel she is not as great as she says she is. I have been working on some hard shoes to fill one day. I am the lucky one that the family seems to come to like my Mom is. I am working on not letting that drain me as I see it has done to Mom.

Lazy Saturday mornings. I get to wake up to the kids watching cartoons and make a late breakfast. Followed by a little house work and a nap. It does not always workout this way but when it does it's great.

Yall are right. I used to be the kind, I just would say " I'm sorry but think you're wrong.." I try to not do that anymore. Id rather make smile than them get all bent out of shape over something.

What I'm thankful for are the little ones in my family. They always make me laugh. Where I'm growing my beard for the contest here. My little sister yesterday rubbed my face, didnt say anything just looked at me and shook her head no, like "thats got to go" lol.

The older I get the more Im just inclined to let someone else speak their piece and walk away. Sometimes you can just tell some people are a special kind of dumb.

I have found that the best way to do this is to acknowledge the other person's view and both understandable and valid BEFORE explaining my view. They instantly know you actually listened to what they were saying with the intention of understanding it. Most people listen with the intention of forming a rebuttal. When that is done, you are not really listening to the other person.

I'm from a smaller city and spent this past weekend in down town Milwaukee. It's a different mindset there and after dark in most parts you don't really go out by yourself. I could not imagine being a woman alone in a city like that. Your a good man cybrsage.

    Re: Today I'm grateful for,

seeing little random acts of kindness. Sometimes I get going so fast in my own head and I'm running around trying to get the next meaningless thing done in my day, I forget there are people on the planet. Either that or I just don't seem to care. There are days where if I saw the Pope walking into the same convince store I am, I wouldn't hold the door for him so I could get my snack first. So when I see someone do a little random act of kindness, it sometimes brings me back to the fact maybe life is not all about being first...... Anyway I have some stuff to do so I need to get going
