Watching my kids get excited for the holidays. The little ones are asking a million questions about Santa and the older ones are going along with it. There is so much magic in youth and its cool to watch. Not to mention the talk about about making cookies with their grandparents and all the food they are going to eat at Thanksgiving. So I guess when it boils right down to it, its family that makes the holidays special. Kinda sappy I know but the older I get the more I realize it.

I'm grateful that Thanksgiving is almost here and I get plenty of time off to spend with family.

My Mom, who has been real heavy in my thoughts lately. When I see her it hurts cause I can feel she is not as great as she says she is. I have been working on some hard shoes to fill one day. I am the lucky one that the family seems to come to like my Mom is. I am working on not letting that drain me as I see it has done to Mom.

It's tough as I get older to see some of that mom magic fade. However, without my mom I can't even imagine where I would be. We are both Gemini so we are both never wrong and get into some intense fights but we are calling each other in hour later laughing and making fun of our fight.
