New position at work

So I ended up getting promoted to the IPP Coordinator position at the wastewater plant. The guy they gave it to totally shit the bed at it. No computer skills, no interpersonal skills, no ability to handle pressure in general let alone a yearly DEP audit of our lab and work. Been at it a month now. Forgot one of the duties is the occasional tours from the high schools for the environmental science classes. Just had to schedule one for next Monday. Hoping for no rain. Two years ago there was a blizzard, last year pouring rain. A little sun would be appreciated as I can't imagine 14 hs seniors being very amused at an hour outside in the pouring rain touring the wastewater plant lol.

way to go! got a couple buddies that work for waste water in my city. its a smelly job but they make more than me with their cert pay and as long as it's not raining cats and dogs they are steady and not too busy.

It's a cool job, after first week back in 2000 I haven't even noticed the smell. Love the hard rain and snow melt as it results in lot of overtime for high flow duty as well as plowing for the city for lots of snow OT. Beats working

our office was next door to the waste plant. if the wind was out of the south east we got it full bore. i got used to it too. went for a tour around it once in a slow saturday and there were fish in the clarifier. he said when they pumped water into it to fill it from the river the fish got in and were eating the corn and such. they were fat little bluegills. interesting job. also there were black widows everywhere in the plant. what's up with that?

We don't get black widows up here but lots of spiders. The smells draw flies and other waste eating insects and it's like a buffet for spiders. We don't get river water in our tanks but we're near a big pond and a big river so occasionally we get a snapping turtle swimming in our primary clarifies and lots of frogs. Interesting to see not only does corn not digest but apparently fruit loops don't either. And the sewer gases blow up condoms to laughable lengths. And no disrespect to women but they all lie when they say they don't flush sanitary products. Plastic applicators and all make it here. Too funny
