Realizing that when others fail it does not make me better then they are. I don't like to admit it, but there was a time in my life when I took a lot of pleasure in other peoples short comings. I thought it made my own short comings not as noticeable. It became a game of "at least that's not me" or "look what they did". If I base my success on other peoples failure I will never grow or achieve my own goals. Today I try to look at my life as "what am I doing thats positive" not look at what others are struggling with.

I need to switch gears sometimes and work through the problem at life's pace, not my own. Might just save a little pain in the process.

Understanding that I can take my time with the challenges in life. I was ridding my bike the other day and my legs were getting tired. I was getting close to home and there was a pretty good size incline coming up. I saw it and got a bit angry so I decided to just get the hill behind me and gunned it. I was miserable the whole way up that damn hill. When I got to the top my legs hurt worse then they did before but, I was on top the hill. It wasn't till I was in the final few blocks to my house I thought to myself, "you have an 18 speed bike. Why didn't I just put it into an easier gear and slowly go up the hill and not make my legs feel even worse?" It's because I wanted the problem done as soon as possible. I need to switch gears sometimes and work through the problem at life's pace, not my own. Might just save a little pain in the process.

I am pulling a double on this day.

I am grateful to see a loved one begin an awakening of their soul. Knowing what it feels like, being able to support during the rough parts, and knowing how wonderful they will feel as well. I am blessed to have been on an awesome personal journey of being able to heal myself so I can be better for my family... Life is good

I agree on the weather, LOVING it! And I agree on the sleep.

I am grateful I was able to get 7 hours of sleep straight last night.

My job and a way to provide for my family. I don't love what I do but I love the people I do it for. When I say I love the people I do it for I do not mean my boss. I am referring to my wife and kids. At the end of the day it is about taking care of the people who matter most and being thankful my job gives me the opportunity to do so.

Remembering that just because the day starts out rocky does not mean it has to stay that way. Hit the reset button and move on. It kinda of relates to this story about the two monks.....


Two monks were making a pilgrimage to venerate the relics of a great Saint. During the course of their journey, they came to a river where they met a beautiful young woman -- an apparently worldly creature, dressed in expensive finery and with her hair done up in the latest fashion. She was afraid of the current and afraid of ruining her lovely clothing, so asked the brothers if they might carry her across the river.

The younger and more exacting of the brothers was offended at the very idea and turned away with an attitude of disgust. The older brother didn't hesitate, and quickly picked the woman up on his shoulders, carried her across the river, and set her down on the other side. She thanked him and went on her way, and the brother waded back through the waters.

The monks resumed their walk, the older one in perfect equanimity and enjoying the beautiful countryside, while the younger one grew more and more brooding and distracted, so much so that he could keep his silence no longer and suddenly burst out, "Brother, we are taught to avoid contact with women, and there you were, not just touching a woman, but carrying her on your shoulders!"

The older monk looked at the younger with a loving, pitiful smile and said, "Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river; you are still carrying her."
