He did whatever he could to get money. I was in HS and got a job to help out the family. If there was one thing I learned from my dad that was to work as hard as you could while you are able to. But, being from Atlanta, I never knew what it was like to have no jobs. There was always a job to get. You might be digging ditches 8 hours a day, but it's a job. That's how I was raised. I was raised with the understanding that any job worth doing is worth doing to the best of your ability. This is why I never stayed at the bottom very long. I gave 100% in every job and I always made it to some level of management because of my desire to go the extra mile. Had I had a different dad, I'm sure I would not have developed that attitude. So, it's difficult for me to understand anything else.
You were brought up in a different generation 007, lol! Many kids of today don't know the meaning of work, or having to pay for everthing they have. I know in my neighborhood, many of the teenagers already on their second or third car that their parents buy for them and pay insurance. I see dads cutting the grass and washing the cars while little Billy or Suzie is off at the cluds or at the malls, lol! Seems like alot of parents nowdays what to be "friend" and not parents. It does help though 007 that you are in a high growth area like CO. Many in the upper Mid-west states are in a totally different situation and can't afford to move to these growth areas.

I just saw a Honda Hybrid yesterday for 24K so i don't think it is that much of an expense, as the Expedition is similar in price, yes? Only thing i don't like about them is they are two seater, unless you get the Civic one, which is about 20K. PPl just like their SUV's and they are going to buy what they want and as it should be. All im saying is don't gripe about the gas if you have one, lol! And Mtnmedic, i understand what you are saying, as im not a real Bush supporter, but don't vocalize that kind of stuff is all im saying, as it can get you into trouble.

in texas they are trying to pass a bill that taxes drivers by the mile, lets hope this doesnt happen-but if it does gas prices will be the least of our worries..we also need to improve our public transportation system..in europe gas is 3-4x more expensive but its not a big deal bc of their means of public transportation.

No offense taken my brother. Im jus a fictional character here for entertainment only. I agree kids got it easy nowadays, but not much different when I was a teen. We still had the same thing, dad bustin' ass doing yard work on his day off while the kid is waxing his new ride. Im in the middle of a cycle so im gonna keep my mouth shut on this before I get started. Back to the "thong of the day" where its safe.

I don't think hybreds are the answer either. I think ethanol is the answer. The conversion is pretty simple from what mechanics tell me and the cost is cheap. Furthermore, any car can be converted to run on it. Will you lose a little hores power? Hell, I don't know. But the benefit to this country is astronomical. Here's why: Enthanol comes from corn. Corn can be grown any many many climates. This would enable the US to make money producing areas out of otherwise usless areas. Also, we could teach Mexico how to grow it and agree to pay then the same price per bushel we pay americans. That will greatly increase the stability of that country and greatly reduce the desire to leave Mexico to come here. Finally, we lock away the secrets of how to refine the corn into ethanol and become the only country to be able to refine it. If any other country wishes to sell cars in the US they will have to convert their cars over. Then, we take the countries that have stood by our side like the UK and Austrailia and sell it to them at a fraction of the cost so they can improve their economies as well. All the while we completely destroy the economies of the Middle East and totally bankrupt terrorist organizations. Oh yes, and finally, no ethanol refinery can be a public company. Period. That way we prevent some foreign super billionaire from buying up all the stocks.

I think that this is the best plan by far. All the growing, harvesting, shipping, refining, shipping (again) and sales would produce hundreds of thousands of jobs in this country. Not to mention all the tens of thousands of jobs in would create in Mexico. We should never underestimate the loyalty of Mexico. Next time you drive down the street just look at every Mexican you see and tell if they aren't driving an American made car. These people love this country. And for us to give them financial stability on the civilian level would create an ally like we have never know before. To bring Mexico into world competing financial stability would make this country a true "big brother".

Now, here's the best part. Bwaahahahaha....Corn doesn't grow in sand!!!!!! So, the middle east could never ever get into the ethanol game. But, even if they figured it out some how, the US would never have any need for their product. This country needs to get itself back to the point of totaly independence. We don't need your oil, we don't need your food, we don't need anything from anyone. We have all the resources to be that country, we just have to use them. More jobs, lower expenses, less illegal aliens....where is the downside of this plan? I'm not trying to be eggotisitcal here, but show me where this plan has a holes it. It's a win-win. The more jobs there are the more taxes the country collects and the less they have to pay in unemployment. I bet this could reverse the defecit in a decade, or less.

Im glad you brought that up....ethanol tech has been around for awhile but gets suppressed, just another piece of the puzzle that is this fucked up system.

Whats there to get? no matter what you say or do it doesnt matter you are going to get fucked cuzz that is the message they send. Its about impossible to do anything without violating some code or law, fucking bullshit and if it is legal you bet you are getting taxed for it on top of all the other taxes. Ive paid taxes since I was 18 so why do the cops sit up on the interstate and try and get people speeding going to work in the mornings instead of being down in the shit part of town where they are slingin crack on the corner in broad daylight? I get no help going to school because my parents made to much money even though im completely on my own because my father passed away and I dont need to ask my mom for money but none the less i have to use her income and cant get any help going to school but some foreigner gets to go all for free and all their books and housing is paid? how the fuck does that work? I help pay for all these bottom feeders who just pump out babies and smoke cigarettes like its a job. They give social security to a drunk if a doctor says they are a drunk but someone who has been paying into Social Security since they are 18 and at 60 get cancer and have to retire early has to sue the ss admin to get their SS? How does that work again?

I wasnt directing that right at you lxorl but just because someone is young doesnt mean they dont get it. I think its pretty ridiculous that you all can just blow it off, yea its all good when you are already established and have a career but its alot harder to start out now then it was 10-15 years ago.....I switched majors into pre pharmacy because there are no jobs for the major i was in for 3 years (finance), there is like 1 job per 4 graduates right now. The economy sucks, yea there are areas its thriving and the majority its not.

Do you think no one elses father raised them that way? Its not ust about you though, personally im not hurting but alot of people around me are, friends/family and they have college degrees, hard workers all that but it doesnt matter when there are no jobs to have. When others are hurting it does effect your life and lifestyle and that is where my concern is.....studying to be a pharmacist and already owning some real estate (2 lots in suburbs ready to be built on that my dad left me) im not worried about my own future so much but i am worried about all the people/family/friends/neighbors that didnt have the luxury of either furthering their education or whatever it may be becuase all that does is increase crime and unemployment, the 50-70k jobs are being cut for 25-30k because of greedy corps....I hate the welfare system, i have no problem with people needing a temporary helping hand but its a crutch not a life support system like they use it.

He was referring to a Escape GQ, which is about the same price as the Honda hybrid. I do think we need another form of fuel. I believe i heard someone waste into enthanol.
