I agree with you 007 for the most part. If you have the entrepreneurial spirit and the drive you can succeed, and of course it would depend on what market you are going into. There are some ppl that are a prisoner of their own mind though. I have seen it very early. The guy who has the good ideas, or has the "know how" but he is always bucking the issues or making excuses. Im sure you've met this person at some point. Also, if you are in the over 40% bracket, and you apply yourself, it even gets easier to capitolize. The hard part is when you are just beginning, and that is when you need the most discipline. I do believe there are fewer blue collar jobs and the newly created ones are paying less and with fewer benefits. In todays market, you def need to have a college education in a field that has alot of opportunity for growth and that yields a steady monetary advancement that keeps up with inflation if you want to retire comfortably.

Point taken. I guess it's just hard for me to see things that way. My step-father, who raised me since I was 5, has always been a blue collar guy. He makes white collar income but he does it with manual labor. I've seen the man make 250k one year and then lose every account he has the next year. (long story) This man never gave up, ever. He did whatever he could to get money. I was in HS and got a job to help out the family. If there was one thing I learned from my dad that was to work as hard as you could while you are able to. But, being from Atlanta, I never knew what it was like to have no jobs. There was always a job to get. You might be digging ditches 8 hours a day, but it's a job. That's how I was raised. I was raised with the understanding that any job worth doing is worth doing to the best of your ability. This is why I never stayed at the bottom very long. I gave 100% in every job and I always made it to some level of management because of my desire to go the extra mile. Had I had a different dad, I'm sure I would not have developed that attitude. So, it's difficult for me to understand anything else.

Russia is def. not our friend like they try and make it out to be. I think China has too much to lose, they dont have enough nukes to take us out completly but of course russia does...i think the next attack is gonna be a suitcase nuke or something of that nature. I dont think any country will attack us outright because they know they would be facing certain extinction.

Bush and his whole administration needs to just get in a huge plane crash... Im not blaming Bush for the gas prices as I havent a clue as to what the causes are (apparently no one knows for sure). however, th commander and chief of the USA would definately get a finger pointed at him justly (since his whole fucking family is involved in oil).

Either way. theres no way a republican can defend bush as a good president. ive never heard one do it. and im not even liberal...

All is well my young friends. The market will take care of it. Don't buy all the gloom and doom BS the media throws at you. And Kerry wanted to add a 50 cent tax on a gallon of gas. We are still the richest and the most powerful country in the world. Travel the world and by the time you return, then you will fully understand how rich and free we really are. Your too young to remember waiting in line for hours just to get gas. The day is coming when there will be no more oil. And the world will change to reflect the needs of the people in the world. It wasn't that long ago when there was no use for oil. Nobody drilled for oil nobody needed oil and nobody would pay for oil. Water will be the next big source of power. So drink up.

I blame Bush and his Administration for everything. If it wasn`t for him and his people we wouldn`t be in the war with Iraq in the first place and wouldn`t be in this mess that we are today.

Many people just don`t drive their cars anymore. What about people that work far away from their homes and have to drive an hour or even more to their work.. this gas prices are insane.. and yes it was never like this when shit was calmed down... because of Iraq/Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden we are paying our dues here. I really wonder what people were thinking when they voted for Bush.. well it could also be a scam. Once Bush goes away from his "president status" it will still take years to recover.

Gas Prices are High...record high..
Tons of people are getting laid-off.
The only easy job that you can get is work for the lowest salary possible $5.75 and up to 8$ an hour.
People who go to school and get Bachelors or Masters degree can`t find any jobs..and how will they pay back the financial aid money ??

Rents/Mortages are higher than ever..here in Boston you can`t even rent a studio under $900+ ... food is getting expensive too. I remember I used to have 15 bags full of food for what $100 now it takes me close to 300$ almost every week 1/2. The way things are going we will be the ones who will have to look for someplace else to reside.

Yea i know, i dont listen to the media, nothing but fear mongers, i cant stand the main stream media......We are having nuclear drills down in SC starting today i believe. Damn 007! You make a good argument. What i don't like is when these ppl with the SUV's and gass guzzlers complain. Its like, if you don't like the gas prices then why did you buy a vehicle that guzzles gas, lol! If you can't afford it then sell the damn thing and buy a hybrid.

t-man does make a good point. and your right...the gas guzzlers should quit whinning (i drive an expedition and my wife drives a crewcab 4x4, no whinning here). but, hybreds are not really the answer. there great for the enviroment, but the added expence for the hybred (escape is around $4000 added for 10 extra miles per gal. in the real world.) does not really equate well in savings at the pump. and, so far the resale value as compaired to non-hybreds, is not any better! wait till gas is 5.00 per gal.
