haha, we are city dwellers baby1. it is actually against city code to have a garden in my area. our bull shit neighbors will report you. i have an old guy down the street that the neighbors reported for his planters of tomatoes and stuff. bunch of ass holes and that dude is like 80 and getting hassled even though it is behind his fenced in yard.

That's nuts! We cannot have one here either but some of our European neighbors are breaking all the rules and doing a garden, lol. My gardening days were back in my kid days, chores that I would love to do now

yeah me too, we had our own massive one that was about 5 acres worth of crops(not what we actually farmed)that we had fresh every year. then both my grand parents had huge ones and family friends. we all grew different stuff and the excess what swapped around with each other

I was a corn picker. and seller, on the side of the road, lol. Picking good ears, and loading up the wheelbarrow. I guess that was my first job. That was in the "country" where I spent time staying with my aunt and uncle. At home it was, grass cutting, weed pulling, planting flowers, raking and all the stuff we had no choice in doing. Now, I feel that pull to all those things again. That is the simple life

i learned i freaking hated it. we didnt have all the modern machines and stuff that they do now and damn near everything was done by hand either every day or every other day. no way in hell i wanted to follow into that way of life. i did take the agg classes in high school instead of a study hall. i did a lot of other work with cows horses and pigs as well. semi enjoyed that aspect but the other stuff not so much. i also started out garage monkey work right before and for a stint after high school. that wasnt my cup of tea either so into the military i went. i have a mad deep respect for both farmers and mechanics. hard freaking work and always filthy dirty. low and behold i hated the sand and being covered in grease oil and pol and i joined the marine corps. freezing my nuts off after swimming into the beach in jan laying there covered in sand. i thought to myself, hum i hate the sand and i joined the marine corps which everywhere we work and go is sand haha. i made a career out of it though

my buddies dad came back from WWII and started his farm. he had equipment from when they first started. when we pulled rows we would pull 3 rows at a time with closed cab john deere tractors. when they did it they would only pull one row at a time. you work in ag you will work your ass off thats for sure. we did lay the field by hand to put stake in the ground to pull ditches. once there were plants in the ground we didnt do much keep the pumps running fix stuff here and there and keep the wild life out like deere and hogs..

I don't have a garden, but I have a ton of yard work I have to do every weekend. Seems like my wife is wanting a new flower bed somewhere every time I turn around lol.
