  • A weight you won't touch?

I was thinking today during my workout how much I rarely ever touch an 85lb dumbbell. I've been training for well over 20 years and I don't believe I've done much dusting of those at all. It got me thinking why? No matter what the exercise if I'm on a set in that range I will either grab the 80lb or 90lb.

So do any of you have the same sort of thing you've notice after years of training? I really can't explain why at all!

That's weird lol ! But I've never , that I can think of , had that happen to me !!!
I like to try all the weights to test them out , well the ones I can handle !!!
Only dumbells I haven't really touched since I've been back are the 110 lbers .
Tomorrow's chest day so I'll power those things up and crush'em !!!

probably just a creature of habit type of thing 6p6. Something you really never even thought about till now. So now you need to pick up those 85'ers

i wont touch a 130 for nothing. just me and all the weights have to face the same direction and the colors are the same.

he is a funny thing that i have noticed about myself and countless other lifters. i call them the killers. the 2 and a half pound plates. so you got a guy that can deadlift or squat 495 or say 595. you go ahead and through the 2 and a halves on there and they wont move it one time, ie....... the killers

I never touch 85's LOL. guns is right it is all a mind game when you think you can only go up another 2.5 or 5 lbs. Since I'm a chick that is the mind game, I saw one of the *****en 24 yr. old killer girls with 25's on the bench. I wanted to be her but realized I'm her mother's age.

Some gyms have the half pound dumbell increments. They'll have a 30lbs dumbell, then a 32.5lbs dumbell. I won't touch those, it's just too weird lol. I'm so OCD with my weights, they always have to be facing the same direction on the bar and they have to be the same kind of weights. I've been to many old hardcore gyms and sometimes they have different types/brands of weights. Everything I put on the bar has to match and be facing the same direction. I'm weird

Well here's a weight I've never touched until last nite .
                    The 110lb dumbells !!!
I've always waited to see if I could push those and it was time .
Pushed them for 6 reps, 2 assisted and it felt good .
Fuck man , I'm getting stronger every week , and I'm more focused then ever to make this cycle work !!!

I'm the same bro !!! I have to have the same plates and dumbells and the plates have to be in-line with one another .
I like a certain barbell that I always look for and use . I'm just weird like that .
I see dudes using different plates and I always wonder Y ??

no.........i did mean barbell. but i might do 100 or more reps in a night with 3-4 other moves in an AMRAP. form dissipates very quickly. I can dead 315# even with a bad back but i pay for it. I am all about cardio. and i do not have back pain if i go sissy light

                              so flame away.
