Re: How many times can you put up 225lbs?

After I had been training for a couple years, I had a guy work out with me because he was on the same job that I was on at the time and he trained as well. This dude had about 10yrs training under his belt at the time and obviously knew what he was doing because everybody in that whole gym asked him if he competed and he had some female trainer that wouldn't lay off him about entering competition, but anyway. The first time we did bench, he explained that I should widen my grip because of the width of my shoulders and long arms and such. I widened my grip to where he said, which was about 1.5-2inches farther each hand. Within a month my chest had spread out noticeably, so I've used a wider grip ever since.

try and see if you like it. I do believe any grip will put some stress on your shoulders...after all thats what benching do anyways...but grip plays a big role..IMO

my PB is 29..I thought the majority of guys on this board are using "gear"..I found it soo funny how weak alot of your rep numbers are, not only with 225 but your sets and reps. I thought the "gear" supposedly made you guys stronger. Glad Ive never put that crap in my body.

I'm glad your proud of your decisions in life but to imply steroids don't work and to use that as a premise to reconfirm your decision not to use them only shows that your looking for anything to support your position. So I wouldn't act all high and mighty and use a weak dogmatic morality to preach to the rest of us.
