Re: Blood Pressure Control
doc always threatens me with meds and i always get mine back under control without them. i can keep mine in normal range at 280-286lbs. if i get above that it's no dice and stays stupid high. i think keeping some cardio in which i hate to do, makes all the difference in the world though. that and it keeps my weight from getting above what my body wantsOriginally posted by dirtwarrior View PostI take benazopril. I dont have any HBP but I take a load of sup0plements and not sure which of them is keeping my bp good. Im guessing these are contributing: garlic, pomegranate, tart cherry. I eat handfuls of raw green leaves of various kinds

Re: Blood Pressure Control
Sodium reduction in diet, limited to no caffeine, a balanced diet, more cardio, and lots of water. Unfortunately I enjoy salt...Originally posted by guns01 View Postwith all the big fellas running around here and some of us older guys as well. what are some of the supp, diet and training strategies you use to keep your bp good to go? it is called the silent killer for a reason.

Re: Blood Pressure Control
cardio really helps. I think a lot of us are so focused on weighs we forget keeping the heart in shapeOriginally posted by Yohimbe View PostYep same for me too. I also have to keep cardio in the mix. If I don't keep an eye on it, mine will sneak up there.

Re: Blood Pressure Control
Yep, I've been guilty of that from time to time over the years. As I get older, it's something I start thinking about more and more. It's funny how when you're younger you think "I'll worry about that when I'm older." Then when you're older you're thinking back to when you were younger and all you can do is just shake you're head lol.Originally posted by jipped genes View Postcardio really helps. I am not quite 50 but I wish I had started cardio earlier and not abused my body so muchOriginally posted by Yohimbe View PostYep, I've been guilty of that from time to time over the years.
