  • Accutane and Body Acne

    Hi all,
I just got prescribed accutane 30 mg/day for my chest and back acne. I've fought it for years and it definitely got worse when I began cycling. I've tried creams, soaps, tanning, pretty much everything and nothing has worked. Could you all share your experiences with accutane with pros and cons?
    Thanks!

    Re: Accutane and Body Acne

I have had great success with Accutane. My first couple cycles I did not have my shit together as far as AI's are conserned and got some pretty bad backne. (Not every gets bad acne because of poor AI planning. Some just get it.) It was the deep under the skin big ones. Almost looked liked welts. Tried everything finally got some Accutane. I went with 40 mgs a day for two months. I know your supposed to run it longer.... I think it's recommended you go six-eight months but oh well. I had none of the severe side effects, dry lips or eyes. My skin WAS super sensitive to the sun though. First couple weeks acne got worse but by the end of the second month it was great. Still have some light scars.... I love it and have some on hand at all times. Tren can cause me some skin trouble every once in a while. Hope this helps.

My nephew used it when he was a teen and so far so good. You are getting blood work done on a regular basis while on, right? I do believe liver function tests need to be checked when using that

I just remembered I also had a coworker who took it when she was 23. With her, the acne came back just as bad as it was before. I do believe it really depends on what is causing the acne to begin with.

that and from what i have heard and read it can also wreck havoc on your joints. then the people with mental health issues can also have problems with it messing with their depression as well. cool thing that people i know that have used it was they used it for so long and then never got acne or had to use it again. dont know if that's for everyone but a couple guys it worked very well for

                  Re: Accutane and Body Acne

I'm currently taking a prescribed 40mg for 1 month. The pros are my acne has cleared up completely and my pores are a lot smaller on my face. The cons for me are, extreme sensitivity to the sun, dried lips, lethargic, and loose stool for the last week. Now its possible I have some sort of stomach flu so I will bring that to my Doc's attention for my next blood screen which is soon. My doc said lipids will jump and it's extremely liver toxic. I've been measuring/tracking my water consumption for years now and maintain between 1 and 2 gallons but even that doesn't seem like enough LoL!

                    Re: Accutane and Body Acne

I decided to take it for 3 months at 10/20mg a day while on a very large cycle of tren. Tren with Test always gave me acne, but tren alone did nothing (found this out later i get no sides from just tren even at 2g week.) Anyways this shit is the best stuff i have ever tried for acne. I started out at 10mg a day for the first month. It basically stopped new ones from forming. 20mg a day completely cleared everything up within a few weeks. Worst side effect was dry lips and sometimes dry mouth but i drank so much water i didnt notice most of the time for either. always have chap stick handy. Hope this helps and im not too late to the convo

I was prescribed it back when I was a teenager. I had acne pretty bad and it cleared everything up. It never came back either. The worst side effect I remember was the insane dry lips. I felt like I was going through a tube of chapstick a week. I also had to get regular blood work done. It was well worth it though.
