Our daughter managed to fit another sport in to her schedule, lol. Took 2nd place in hurdles last night. Even though she isn't hurdling "correct" she has taken it twice now. I call it her own style and I told her I think she can make it first. She took 1st in the high jump last meet. Pretty fun stuff!
Nice I think u have a gold medalist on ur hands there she is good at everything she does
Thanks MM. She amazes me and I live through he, lol. She is doing a lot of what I think I could have done. I love to see all the kids get involved in things, whether it be sports, music, art whatever. There is so much talent in kids

getting your child to engage in anything is harder than it looks or sounds ... much love to any parent out there to give love, support, time, and encouragement to their kids,,,i know it sounds "meathead-ish" but i strive to be the best "spotter" for my son and daughter the world can ever offer.

and this goes out no less and no more than the step parents out there too because i am one as well. END.

my short noncoordernated big butt ran the hurdles baby1 haha. i even went to state in high school and won regions as well for a couple years. it is all about technique and stride and once the coach gets her where each jump is taken in stride she will shave off seconds off her time. you got a serious athlete on your hands.

lol, that's awesome! A goal for you to do again, hehehe. With pics please. She tends to get herself locked into a fear when she has it but when she has a good coach they can get her through that. She is afraid to stride so she is doing it her own way which we know is holding her back. this is new for her but she does love it. Just like in gymnastics, there are always new skills and eve when she is afraid her coach is so great that she gets her over that fear

that's pretty awesome baby1. no way on earth i would attempt a feat such as that now. i am still pretty fast but i can bet you a pay check that if i did it full tilt, i would be down and out for weeks after lol.
i had a great coach and a very crappy one. biggest thing i took away from that was counting in my head each stide to each hurdle. if i am remembering correctly for me it was 1-2-3 reach. 1-2-3 reach. the mechanics of one arm forward one arm back matching the opposite side helped out a ton too but took me lots and lots of practice. opposite hand to the toe on the other foot lol. i remember practicing single hurdles in the grass for a while, then going onto the pavement and then the track. you can bet that their is probably some of my hid on that ground to this day. never whipped out during a meet though.
it's funny i can still remember a lot of those cues and that was many many many years ago
