  • FG Interview #1 BABY1

Hello everyone my name is LittleTom and welcome to what I hope, is the first of many FitnessGeared member interviews. I have been lucky enough to get the go ahead to interview some of the members here with the goal of helping everyone get to know each other better and have some fun. My first interviewee needs little introduction, she is the one of the people that holds this place together and leads with kindness….. not to be mistaken for weakness. BABY1

LT: Hi BABY, thanks for doing the first of hopefully many member interviews here at FitnessGeared. Let’s start with a little background about FG. I know you have been around for a long time now, tells us how you got started here.

BABY: Fuzo has been a member since 2002 and owned for about 10 years or so. After complaining he spent to much time on here, I just had to see what FG was all about. I figured if I can't beat him, join him!

LT: We get a little personality from the Avatars you select and your quote at the bottom of your post. Is BABY the same person away from the boards as she is on?

BABY: Yes, I am as real on FG, as I am off the forum.

LT: If we looked at BABY’s playlist on your Ipod what are we going to find?

BABY: My playlist would be all over the place, lol. Not much into newer music and definitely not into country, except the older stuff

LT: From my first visit here you have always been welcoming and I see you extend that kindness to everyone. That may be the norm for you, but trust me when I say it’s not on a lot of other boards. Where does that welcoming attitude come from?

BABY: That is who I was raised to be and just who I am.

LT: Tell us a bit about your background in exercising and what got you interested in the many areas of being a healthy person.

BABY: When I was 18, my big brother bought me a membership at Ballys cause I had an interest, and he had the money, lol. I didn't really go much to the club though, until I met Fuzo when I was 21. I owe my interest in the gym, solely, to Fuzo. I also paid close attention to people who were not living such a "healthy" life and were miserable. I told myself that I would try all I could to not ever be that way.

LT: Favorite thing to eat when no one is looking?

BABY: Portillo's chocolate cake! I hat half of a double layer 9 inch cake in about a day and a half period once, lol

LT: From the time I’ve been here you have always put a big emphasis on family. Tell us what it’s like working on the forum and what your life is like away from FitnessGeared.

BABY: The forum takes a lot of time. I love it and it is part of our family. Since a mom and wife have a lot to juggle, I try to put in as much as I can. When I am not at home, I do not carry a cell so I have no access to the internet when I leave home. This is a good things as it keeps me focused on whatever I am doing with my daughter, especially when she is competing, performing, or playing ball.

LT: You’ve been here since 2003…. Obviously you care a great deal about this place. Tell us some of highs and lows you’ve seen in your twelve years here.

BABY:I have seen people meet and become a couple. Fantastic growth from Fuzos hard work and our team. I have seen several members pass away and unfortunately shared some very hard times with many. Also have been VERY fortunate to have met some great friends and actually have vacationed with a couple of them.

LT: You share some great information here and all the different social media outlets FitnessGeared and you yourself are a part of, how do you balance it all out with family?

BABY: Sometimes, honestly, I don't really know lol. I have always been a go getter, a perfectionist, a do it myself kind of gal and one who finds it very hard...if ever...to give up.

LT: It’s rare to meet someone who is always so optimistic. How do maintain your positive outlook on life and what have you done to foster that attitude in the face of adversity.

BABY: I believe the mind is very powerful. It is not always easy to be that way and even when I portray that...I am sometimes doing that with pain. However, what keeps me going is knowing, the pain passes, I have been through worse, I have strength through my family.

LT: If you don’t mind, tell us how you and Fuzo met and how you have come to have such a strong relationship.

BABY: Fuzo and I saw each other at a fest. made eye contact etc. over a course of 6 months following that, we saw each other all over the place but neither one of us approached the other. One night at a club, I was with friends and my brother in law was there. I said go up to that guy and see if he has a girlfriend....now it's 25 years later.

Because of who we are, and all we have been through, we are stronger than ever. I have no regrets and believe me there were some trying times for both of us. I feel at this point there is nothing we can't get through together. the biggest challenge was the loss of our other daughter and my daughters twin

LT: What’s the biggest challenge working with your husband on the Forum?

BABY: We definitely don't always agree, but we hear each other’s thoughts and then compromise

LT: I have heard a few times that and experienced firsthand that this place (FG) “Is different”. In your own words, what do you think makes it “different”?

BABY: Owners that are on almost all the time. A great knowledgeable mod team. Longterm members and NO drama.

LT: What are some of the things that members do that just make you shake your head?

BABY: I know life is hard and I do believe EVERYONE has a story. While I have extreme compassion for all people, constant complaining drives me bonkers. I feel the same about that in life away from the forum too.

LT: Is there anything that would make you walk away from FG?

    BABY: No

LT: Where would you like to see FitnessGeared five years from now?

BABY: Even bigger and better but NOT ever at the expense of losing that "family feel" or the integrity we uphold

LT: Besides Torr, is there anyone you would like to take the opportunity to ban right now?

BABY: No, Fuzo is NOT a ban happy owner so I have to respect that. If I want someone banned they would already have been.

LT: Tell us a little bit about your friendship with Mrz Diva.

BABY: I met diva a few years ago when she came here from a forum I joined. We clicked right away. We are so much alike it is almost scary. we are in sync so much to. very blessed to call her one of my very best friends

LT: Anything you would like to say to the members of FitnessGeared?

BABY: Thank you to all who are part of our family here. You are all a big part of the Fuzo family life and even if I tried to stay away...I never could. Stay real, stay awesome, stay fabulous

A BIG thanks to you LittleTom for doing this interview and bringing your idea here to FG!

It was my pleasure BABY and thanks again for doing this. I hope all the members enjoyed this as much as I did and look forward to the next one. If anyone has any suggestions on what they would like to see added or changed in upcoming interviews please let me know. These are for the members here and I welcome everyone’s input. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of this great family here at FitnessGeared.

Thanks again, Little Tom. I like to look over this daily and I am so glad to have done it. This is the second interview I have done in the past year. One of our teenage neighbors had to interview someone for a school project. She picked me and I was flattered...these are a good thing to do. Put things in perspective for me
