Guys..please hold the door open

I know it is 2014 but men should still respect women. How many of you do not bother holding the door open for a lady if you are entering or exiting a store at the same time? I have even seen little boys hold the door at school for adults and girls...I praise the parents who teach them that. I always try to instill in our daughter to hold the door and respect her elders, and even for anyone else, it is still a kind jesture.


I guess it doesn't matter if it is a man or a women, we should ALL not be in such a hurry and it only takes a second to be kind.

Well i do that too but I don't go anywhere without her so it's open the door for her and everyone else coming in with us my dad raised me to be a gentelman

People are so ungrateful. I never get a thank you or anything. I Always try to hold to door for anyone comin behind me. It really pisses me off when they don't even give me a nod. Just a little appreciate you don't need to kiss my ass just a smile or a nod a quick thanks and I'm more then happy to do.

I always try to especially for elderly people. My grandfather raised me to have good manners, but he was in the navy and its true what they say about sailors. So I forget and cuss sometimes thats my bad habit I need to work on.

im a single guy, ive been on ALOT of dates lately. I always hold the door, open the car door, pay for everything, basically make the outing totally about them.

I think those manners are taught at an early age.

My old man would have popped me upside the head if I didn't hold the door open for others. It's just polite. Just because other people are in too much of a rush these days doesn't mean I have to be. My family was huge on manners, how a woman should be treated, and how to instill these ideas in our children.

I hold the door open for everyone. Manners are almost non existent now days. Most people won't hold a door, and those same people won't say thanks when you hold it for them. It's like the more advanced we get as a society, the more in a hurry everyone is and the more rude people become.

always. my son too. i hate walking up to a door at a convenience store reach for the handle and the person 5 feet in front lets it close. dont be a dick it takes an extra second to be courteous

I always try to hold the door if there are people behind me, especially elderly folks or ladies. Most always I get a thank you and a smile from the older folks and usually at least a polite thank you from the ladies. Occasionally it's a mumbled thanks from a younger attractive lady who probably thinks I'm just trying to make points but if I didn't hold the door for a lady or offer my seat to a lady on the bus like at Disney I can just sense my mom is about to head slap me for not remembering the manners she raised me with. Just how I was brought up

What gets me are guys who are with their wives/girlfriends, and walk in a store or whatever first and let the door shut behind them. Just blows me away sometimes.
