  • after 14yrs

well my Monday sucked. after 14yrs working for this company they let me go yesterday. was told by the owner he didn't like how I was running the shop. we've gotten into it several times over the last few months.been running the shop for over 10yrs. don't really understand what the hell happened he put my tech on a quarterly bonus and a yearly bonus and they made it all last year including the yearly bonus.

he ran the shop before I took over and I double his numbers in the shop for several yrs then during the down turn it was tough. have to go in today and get the rest of my tools.

had the local cummins dealer call me back in 2011 to run there shop and I turned it down. so I called them yesterday which they are right around the corner from my old place. I am also real good friends with the local CAT dealer service manger so I called him he has something lined up for me at one of there dealers but its not in town it would be an hr drive or so. so I will talk to them tomorrow and see what they have to offer..

I will make some other phone calls today to see if there is anything out there. don't really want to go back to turning wrenches but I will o what I have to to take care of my family.. might just get out the of the business all together and get into something else. or I thought about going to there competition and talking to them and steal all of my customers from them see how he likes that.. that's where they got me from..

to say the least it was a sucky st patties day for me...

that sucks brother but at the same time one door closes and another one is sure to open up. shitty cliche their but that's about the only way to look at it. i always say that if someone does you wrong then they will get theirs back in the end. my wife had a similar experience back this past october where she worked for a company for 13 years and the owner killed himself. well they passed the business over to the gm who is a greedy selfish pos and she turned over to her drug addict son that is as lazy and worthless as they come. long story short i made her quit when they broke the original arrangement that was made with the owner. so now they are on the downside of losing the business and cant keep any employees longer than a couple of weeks. i have never wished bad things on anyone but if anyone deserves it they sure do. now my wife is stress free and happy 99% of the time and enjoying life and not getting crapped on and taken advantage of every day

thanks guys.. your right guns one door closes another door opens.. wife was in the bathroom crying at dinner I had to go get her and told he to calm down things will work out..

the kicker is we just started to build a new house.. trying to pay for it out of pocket so no house payment. bought the property last may got the footer poured and the stem wall built.. got enough saved up to dry it in..

been a busy day today going to meet with the CAT dealer tomorrow for a service manger opening and after that going to meet with the cummins dealer who tried to hire me in 2011.. go and talk to both of them and see what they say. the cat dealer is a bit of a drive.. we'll see..

very few companies have loyalties to their employees today. your old boss prolly wants to put his "buddy" in and will pay him less and work his ass off.. seems a recurring theme now a days to shit bag the guys who have been around for a while thinking the grass is greener on the other side.

im betting you'll be happier in the long run because they canned you even if it has to hurt a little now.. good luck

Ya I'm you but learned early that an employer will never be there for you when it doesn't benefit them....

i think a lot of times a guy will come in and fix a shop then the owner will say "hey i can do that" and try or hires a friend or family member. i bet he regrets it in the long run

dont know what it is you do, but hopefully those other jobs your prospecting will come through and pay nicely. 14 years is a good amount of time to gain a lot of experience especially if your running the store, have you considered opening up your own business?
