"Ever wonder just how in bed drug companies are with your doctor? This picture depicts one doctor who saved all of the drug company pens he received from reps who often took him to concerts, out to dinner, and sent him gifts -- all in an effort to get YOU on their latest pharmaceutical. "
When I worked for the Cancer Center Oncology docs, we had the most fab lunches and things catered in from the drug reps. docas also got some great gifts at holiday time
Some of the stories I have heard are disgusting. I guess they have passed laws to limit what drug reps can give away to docs. One office said they went to NFL football games and sat in luxury box seats, compliments of the drug company.
my wife works at a large OB/GYN with several doctors. at least 2 times a week and normally 3 a rep caters lunch for the whole office
the docs will give the employees tickets to the Mavericks, Stars, sometimes even the Cowboys. they took the whole office and their families to a Rangers game once.
It is a double edged sword. massive profits from drugs create an environment in which it is fine to spend hundreds of millions of research because you will get it back, the other side is drugs are very expensive. if the government regulates the cost of drugs down it will prevent new research. and the brightest minds will find other work where their genius will be compensated
"SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

One Xmas, all the docs I worked for each got abig ole smoked salmon packed in dry ice andguess who took one home?lol, lil ole me, doc dint even know he got it
One guy I graduated from high school went on to be a big producing drug rep and climbed up the company ladder and he now lives in the hamptons in a freakin mansion. well, good for him. At the price those drugs sell for, much of it paid for by taxpayers money, no wonder the drug reps get rich. Certain pills can sell for thousands of dollars per month.
my old dr's office it would take me roughly an hr to see her and I would bet she would have 3 reps come in to see her in the rougly hr long time I was there..and if you go around lunch time you will see whats for lunch
