but I know your gears are constantly turning. And from my point of view, they're turning in the right direction. I think you rationally place things, feelings, important attributes of life where you want them to be, based on something that drives you to do that. I don't know, and I'm not inquiring. I've been told I do that by means of being descriptive. Very explanatory when "not needed", and it takes up time. I feel it's valid information, and it is, but obviously, most folks don't require so much info. Not many people have told me this. Just my father actually, which he's the same way. I think I picked up my feeeling of the need to exaplin myself early in life. Maybe you picked up a feeling of the need to rationally place traits, interests, meanings, from someone, or from some people, early on as well. You do a good job with it.

I agree. So now we have a Christian god that pre-destines souls to hell; even if it is just statistically more probable for one person to go to heaven over another there is a degree of favoritism and pre-destiny.

most of what we believe about God came to us when we were very young children and easily molded. Lets take the most christian person on this board and say they were born and raised in pakistan instead. I guarantee you they would be worshipping muhhamad and practicing islam!!! because thats what they would be indoctrinated with as children. Youd be programmed with a different story and a different God!!!...So I guess the people who live here and got to be taught about Jesus since childhood, well, we just got lucky. Those kids in China and India got a bum deal and they are all going to hell unless we send missionaries over there to teach them about the bible
for most I say this is true, but I have seen many convert. Now I was not taught anything I was pretty much a Hell Raiser and did what I wanted. Those people that would try and force God on me only pushed me away further. But at some point in my adult life, I finally asked myself -is there more to life than this??? I went to Catholic Church-Epicople(sp)- Baptist and nothing seem to fit. but then I attended a Non-Denominational Church
and everything just hit me like a ton of bricks. So I wouldn't say I was influenced on my raising ,but tired of looking to man for the answers to the questions I had. Its funny how science was so against the Bible and they are now finding more and more things that link back to what is written.

I've think that most people like to remain vague when it comes to philosophical discussions because most people know their own philosophy/religion is just a weak facade hiding their own ignorance and they prefer not exposing that. For example, christians are fine as long as someone doesn't question the credibility of the Bible - then it's game over.

Who defines a dic? Are we all dics by simply existing? ...and require forgiveness to make it to heaven? How about acts, do murderers, rapists, and pedophiles go to heaven? Some of these god's are pretty possessive about their followers and if you don't worship and believe in the way they want they make you suffer.

If your god and morality is based on faith. Do you condone violence that others, who follow faith, feel is god's will (e.g. suicide bombers)? If not, how do you differentiate between your faith and theirs, i.e. how do you prove your beliefs that are based on faith are superior to theirs?
