I agree with most everthing you are saying except this. Kids will be kids, but raising responsible kids is what parents "should" be trying to teach. Everyone knows that no kid will ever grow up not doing anything wrong, but the prob i see today is that alot of parents don't spend enough time with their children, because either both parents are too busy at work, doing their own thing, or their the babyboomers that never got much when they were kids, so they give their kids everthing without having to work for it, and so they don't have a clue of what responsibility means, or respect to other adults. There is a big difference between playing childhood pranks and shooting bottle rockets at cars. Never heard of shootings by kids and such when i was growing up.

Agreed whole heartedly... Every parent has a responsibility to try and raise responsible children. HOWEVER, kids that never do ANYthing wrong is in my opinion a pipe dream. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try though, just don't expect or HOPE for 100% sucsess. IMHO, it is good to give kids a little bit of slack on their own to explore and F%ck up, so that they can experience first hand the consequences of doing wrong. I don't in anyway condone letting kids shoot fireworks at cars... but Too sheltered of an existance early on can lead to being lost as an adult, mom and dad won't always be there, know what i mean?

But you are right on with parents being too busy for kids these days. I think alot of rents go in the right direction trying to work hard to provide for a family, but then miss the fact that the kids that they are working so hard for are going completely astray because they are too busy to give them the guidance they need.

Thanks to everyone for their ideas, input and props. We always have great debates here.

I agree with a lot of the points made but if the guys hadn't pulled over and stopped them, then there could have been a major accident with multiple people dead. It's better that the kid at fault died than someone's innocent grandparents or other family member died because some idiotic kids wanted to have fun. I mean they are shooting explosives at moving vehicles. Why didn't they shoot explosives at animals or other objects besides people driving on a highway? I don't mind kids being kids but when you endanger peoples lives you are crossing the line. It's ashame the kid had to die but what happened has happened. Now the guy should not have beat up the kid. He should of just held him until the police arrived. It's a sad situation for all the parties involved. If the guys had clean records then I'm sure a judge who has common sense will not give them extensive jail time but maybe parole or something minor.

They did go too far i believe. All they need to do was try to detain them. If not without chasing them then call 911. Most ppl now i think have the mobile phones. If they called 911 even without trying to detain, the police most likey would have caught them and the fatality may not have happened.

i really dont think you can blame the guys for the kids running into the fucking road that is ridiculous. Its fucked up but accidents happen. You might as well charge the driver and car manufacturer while you are at it, charge everybody but the people responsible. Fact is if you want to say couldve wouldve shouldve then the kids shouldnt have been shooting them at cars in the first place. I dont agree with beating the kids ass but i really doubt they planned on the kid getting ran over. Beating children and kicking someones ass because they are a little punk are 2 different things.

Look at tit this way. Anything you do now days is wrong, or it can kill you. We are all humans, we all make mistakes. Some people say don't take these drugs or don't eat those foods, then they come back and say well it is o.k. I m not going to say anything on the whole kid issue. Personally I know how it is in the heat of the moment, I m sure the guys wasn't thinking clearly. But all of this is opinion on our behalf. And as my teacher used to say Opinions are like ASSHOLES everyone has one. Sometimes it is better to keep them to yourself. This is a bad topic! Its kinda like talking about religion at a job with 100 workers. Someone is going to ***** about what you have to say.

true^, i think if one of those guys wouldve wrecked and been injured/killed or if caused them to wreck into someone else we would be talking about how those kids need their ass beat.

i agree with HB. thats where these guys mest up imo. no adult should touch a kid. reguardless of what they did, you as the adult should know better. if an adult touched my kid for any reason he will be eating thru a straw for months. i will beat my kids ass myself if needed.

i agree with that but i dont agree with guys getting in trouble for the kid running out in the road and getting hit so now they get charged,,,,i dunno its a messed up situation.

if they were just pist and ran after the kids to scare them then i would agree. however the fact that they beat up the kid they did catch changes everything and they should be held accountable imo.

true but i dont think that should release the kids/parents from any accountability on what happened and what caused the whole situation in the first place.

normally i would agree with that. i always point the finger at the parents. but what could the parents have done to stop the kids from doing this. shooting bottle rockets at cars is a normal mischieveous thing for kids to do. i did it all the time and i came from a very strict up bringing. yes its dangerous but as kids we do stupid things without thinking. now we sit there and say....oh it could do this and this and then this horrible thing can happen. as kids we don't do that but it doesn't make us bad kids. being stupid is a part of growing up no matter how well raised we are.
