To be honest Kite, and i agree with what you said. Iam so not conservative as some ppl might think. I just happen to think that these kinds of comments, without some kind of reasoning are just not right. Especially when they become derogatory. I also didn't call anyone Names, only said i believe Immature, and that is a correct statment. I would even welcome a skinhead to come on and talk about his/her views on racism, or nationale, if he or she has some reasoning behind why they feel this way. In fact i think it would be very interesting to understand why they feel the way they do. Everyone here was prob brought up in a different denomination or faith, whether it be, Judism, Muslim, Catholic, Baptist, Christian/Non-Denominal, etc, or even Atheism, and im sure most ppl have different views, on the particulars of their faiths or beliefs.

GP, making a blanket statement that Catholics worship idols, isn't bashing? This wasn't an opinion, you stated it as a fact. This isn't about someone not agreeing with someone's religion, you were making statements and claiming that they were facts.

Exactly, and i really think she knows this.? If she is calling parying to Saints idol worship, its only praying thru a particular saint. I do know some of the Catholic beliefs are not too...lets say nonconforming to todays everyday living and occurances. There are ways around some of the Catholic doctrine law, such as annulment processes, etc. What changes occured since Vatican II strive for evolvement in the church, but the Cardinals strive to conform to the old ways of the Roman Catholic church, and i doubt much will change with Benedict XVI.

If you think she is misinformed, then tell her so and explain why.... Is that not what a debate is?? I believe someone did kindly tell her she was wrong about that statement and they told her why. That is how a discussion goes.

You guys act like she said all catholics are morons and assholes..... She didn't... It was her opinion or thought that Catholics worshipped idols (which as she said she thought this partially because of having the pope). You can tell her she doesn't know what she is talking about if you do so in a respectful manor.... But getting pissed off or offended is useless. This is why wars are started over religion. People can not accept the fact that not everyone shares their views and opinions on their religion. I'm sorry guys, but I can not side with you. I just don't see where she blatently insulted or bashed anyone....

I did explain about the Pope earlier and that Catholics do not worship idols, she reiterated that Catholics worship idols. She did not simply express an opinion about idolitry, she followed up her statement with "facts are facts". Opinions are fine, questions are fine, debates are fine, but blatently false statements are not fine.

The Pope is the leader of the Roman Catholic church and if you don't like that or disagree with the status of the Catholic church or its head, maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself.

I AM relaxed GP and iam not open to debate this. First of all Catholics do not worship idols, just another ignorant statment. Also did not Sugar post of her friend saying Catholics were Satan worshipers?? Wondering why she felt the need to post that? I don't see anyone discounting the Baptists, or the Christian's with their "free thinking", or even the Pentecostals, or the Mormons for that matter.

Dude, you must not have met many foreign nationality Catholics then. I know Catholics within my step-fathers Italian family that pray to saints for safe travels, or good luck. I know Catholics from Guam, France, Germany and Russia who all were taught to pray to saints for specific needs. That is idolotry. How can you say it's not? There is no way around it. How about the "Hail Mary's"? That's praising Mary, not God. That's idolotry. I was Catholic and I know what the hell I'm talking about. I've seen it with my own eyes so I know for a 100% fact that these things are taught in Catholic Churches. And considering most of the 1.3 billion Catholics live outside the US they make up the majority of the Catholic Religion. If they do these things then the majority does these things.

WTF? All? I don't pray to any idols. Even if I'm the only one that makes "all" a lie. Idols are objects such as man, animals, man made things, etc.. Praying to God, is not praying to an idol.

Science is actully doing more to prove God than disprove God lately. There have been so many things to disprove evolution that many of the worlds top scientist say science will disprove it before long. If evolution was real and we all came from fish then why are there still fish? Why hasn't a creature walked out of the ocean in the last 10,000 years? Why are there still singles cell organisims? If everything is evolving why is there still simple cell life forms?
