Ed, i seriously didn't think that CherriBomb was bashing this site, just voicing an opinion on what transpired eariler in this thread. To tell a person to basically not post, because they state an opinion is alittle unfair.

she made a comment towards the site in general because she doesn't like the words of a few. i think thats a little unfair

I do know the Bible says in James that a faith without deeds is a dead faith, no more than a demons faith. I can see where Mick is coming from is this regard, and I agree with him. If a person claims they said a prayer, they asked Jesus into their heart and they believe Jesus is the Son of God, and yet, the bare no fruit and their life is full of willful sin with no regret then I say they do not truely believe. If something doesn't change then no change took place. A true believer will strive to please God by baring fruit. Will that person still sin? Yes. But they will repent those sins with a sorrow heart, and that is the difference.

I think there is a difference between baring fruit and doing good deeds. A believer can do good deeds for a selfish reason and that would not bare fruit. The Bible speaks of doing good for others and telling no one about it. However, one who is ethical, honest with his fellow man, trustworthy, diligent and humble. That person may not go around doing good deeds for others but their character bares great fruit by being obedient to God. Baring fruit is nothing more than obedience to God. It's in the way we think, the way we speak of others, they way we treat others, the way we handle our money, the way we spend our time, the way we teach our kids. All these things are to be done a certain way according to God and to strive to do it his way will bare fruit. However, doing all these things without the belief in Christ is useless. According to my beliefs.

There is 2 parts to that though..... 1. faith with out works is dead- means you should show your faith, or someone should see your faith in your works or life or it is dead- meaning not good or able for anyone to see, NOT that your lost your faith being salvation. 2. AND VERY IMPORTANT..... that this was under the old law. the law was given to prove that man needed JESUS CHRIST that he could not save himself, that man could not even keep that law. JESUS CHRIST took the place of the old law and we trust our faith in HIM not in keeping the law!

I belive this also....so that would make praying to mary the st.'s or anyone else other than Jesus Christ Idol worship to me! and if you say you are praying for them and not to them, why............... they have passed away they do not need you to pray for them, it would not do any good! you can not pray someone out of hell!

sorry if i was not clear, i type like nj some times! lol im not saying anyone is in hell, i will even go as far as saying mary and other are prob not! Not all i said was because of what you said or belive. if people use religious denominations in hopes of reaching God or heaven, I think they will wind up empty handed! i can say we are close, does that count!

Lol, well in a way. I don't think that ppl that use denominations will get there alone. They have to believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that God is our Salvation first. Now are we, lol?? And ED thats ok i don't think so either

I was just taking about people who claim to go to church or one type of denomination and counting on that getting them there. it is not enough to just say you belive in God and go to church, that will not get you to heaven.

Actually, it's not under the old law. It's written in James. New Testament, so it's very real and expected.

i agree. I know what you are saying from james! If we have faith (salvation) our lives should reflect it through works, the fruit of the sprit. I was just talking about where some "churches" get the "works" from does not apply to us because of JESUS CHRIST. Accepting JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR is the only thing that will get me to heaven, nothing more. There is more to do as a result of my salvation. works should be the result of my salvation, not to obtain salvation. Faith without works is dead- meaning my faith is pretty much dead, nothing...not that I have lost my salvation, just that i have JESUS as Savior and not Lord. Only after I make Him Lord of my life and alow Him to guid me do I see the fuits or works. Not only should you see that or do that, we are commanded in the great commission!
