First of all we are not poking fun at Catholics, just the Pope. Second, no one said the Pope was an idol. Third, no one said Catholics were Satan worshippers. Fourth, Catholics DO pray to idols. What is there to debate? Facts are facts. Trust me, if anyone flames you because you are Catholic Mick, I will personally ban them. Just relax...

I AM relaxed GP and iam not open to debate this. First of all Catholics do not worship idols, just another ignorant statment. Also did not Sugar post of her friend saying Catholics were Satan worshipers?? Wondering why she felt the need to post that? The Pope is the leader of the Roman Catholic church and if you don't like that or disagree with the status of the Catholic church or its head, maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself. I don't see anyone discounting the Baptists, or the Christian's with their "free thinking", or even the Pentecostals, or the Mormons for that matter.

I don't believe anyone needs to read this stupid and ignorant thread! I thought this board was more mature,and im suprised FUZO would let this go on. Maybe it should be a rule that there should be no Threads or comments directed or derogatory towards a persons sex, religion, or race. There are ways in which ppl can go about discussing this in a more condusive manner, and yes in the forum it is supposed to be in.

Also, i might add this thread IS flaming to Catholics, as it is discounting and poking fun of the head of its Church. Would it be ok if i started a thread in the General Forum (where this thread was started and moved) about Baptists, or how about Christians who don't believe in denominations so they feel free to think however they want to justify their own ways of thinking.

This forum is for the discuss religion, politics, etc... Just because someone may take offense does not mean that it is derogatory. If you feel someone is wrong, explain WHY they are wrong...and the discussion continues from there. JMO...

This is why I don't even go to this forum. I do not discuss politics OR religion.

For one, this thread was started in the General Forum and just recently moved. I do not think it was started with the intent of being derogatory, but became that way do to some ppls posts, and yes it did become derogatory and insulting to any Catholics that may have come across it. When ppl poke fun of the leader of the Catholic church, yes it is derogatory, and i already explained why. Did you read my above posts? And yes this Forum is to discuss Religion/Politics, but not to make fun or imply negative comments. If you don't come to this area, then iam wondering why now?? Could it be because of your fiancee's posts??

some times when people give thier opinion it may sound bad or derogatory and it NOT be bashing. to me as long as you are just stateing how you feel and what you believe and not bashing its ok. I dont have to agree or get offended! just cause i think people who pray to budda are crazy and lost does not mean im bashing them. i just belive that they are lost and do not have the right idea. Just cause i may say why i think they are wrong or that anything is false, does not mean i am bashing budda followers. I just have the opinoin that they are lost. it means nothing more than that, and if they feel they are right my opinoin should mean nothing to them. They prop thing the same things about me, about what I believe!!!!!

OK Folks..... It seems some people have gotten a little offended by some comments in here... It is now in the right forum, so that is a step in the right direction.

Whenever discussions of politics or religion occur, there will always be many opinions and this leads to heated discussions. That is why I originally suggested this forum to begin with. If you choose to take part in a discussion in here, then please realize that your opinion is not the only opinion and that some peoples opinions may offend you. If you do not want to be offended, then I ask that you do not partake in any discussions in this particular forum. A lot of people can discuss things with passion without going over the line, and that is what this forum is for. Feel free to discuss/debate things, as long as you all know where the line is. I refuse to lock a thread in here.... If you can't discuss these topics like adults, then don't dicuss them.

Im sorry bro, but calling ppl crazy for praying to Budda and are lost would be bashing as far as im concerned, especially if they are just making blanket statements without any knowledge or intent other than critizing ones denomination. The negative posting in this thread was not intended for dabating purposes, but rather blatant and derogatary comments directed at the Pope. Now, if it were comments directed as a debate about the Catholic doctrine and its laws or practices than that is a different story. There are some parts of Catholic law that i don't particularly agree too, but i do not comment or make blanket statements without justification, which i could also say about several other denominations or faiths. Also, if ppl can not make constructive posts than maybe they should not be here either. I for one welcome anyone's opinions on any topic, if it makes sence.

My feelings exactly. A good debate is welcome anytime, and yes they too can get heated even with the best intentions but even a heated debate shouldn't resort to bashing. I seriously doubt that if a skinhead started posting about blacks, Jews, etc.... it wouldn't be taken as opinion, and I'm certain they'd be banned.
