  • MCDONALDS

Screenshot_20180927-024644_Samsung Internet.jpgMcDonald’s classic burgers are now made without preservatives, the fast food chain announced Wednesday. McDonald’s burgers, as well as the toppings, now have no artificial preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no added colors from artificial sources. The preservative-free classic choices are the hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and of course, the Big Mac.

McDonald’s also moved away from using antibiotics in its chicken in 2017.

“We know quality choices are important to our customers, and this latest positive change to our classic burgers demonstrates our committed journey to leading with the customer and building a better McDonald’s,” said McDonald’s USA President Chris Kempczinski in a statement about the burger menu changes.

The company is in a pickle about the pickle, though. That topping item, perhaps unsurprisingly given that it is named for the way it is preserved, contains an artificial preservative. The company says customers can skip the pickles if they prefer.

McDonald’s has been trying to offer healthier menu items lately, including with a move to fresh instead of frozen beef at roughly 14,000 mainland U.S. locations in March of this year. (Sorry, Hawaii and Alaska.) And earlier this month, McDonald’s also rolled out a healthier apple pie, causing some online outrage over the popular dessert menu item.

I have not eaten at a micky Ds in YEARS but I remember when the the cheese burgers were $.49. We would buy 5 of them and stack them up to make burger towers and devour them.

I might go get a cheeseburger today just to see if it still tastes good to me.

When I was a kid, I would go thru the drive thru and buy 10 mcdonald cheese burgers and a large coke.
In college we would see who could eat the most

Tried it with 3. They do not taste how I remember. Not bad but not good. Maybe I am spoiled by whataburger, LA burger and 5 guys.

a kid that i knew 100% would not listen to me about how to get big asked me how i got so big one time. i told him that every single day i had 5 mcdoubles after training. i know if i told him the truth or that wouldnt matter because he wouldnt do either.

i have also eaten one of the family boxes and 2 extra doubles in one sitting before. that's 2 big macs 2 quarter pounders 2 dbl cheese burgers 10 or 20 nuggets and like 6 small fries i added the two additional myself haha. not the smartest nor the healthiest practices for sure

I haven't had McDonald's in years. I used to love the sausage biscuits when I was a kid. Might swing by there and give it a try this weekend. See if it brings back any memories lol.
