I SAY YES, IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO DOING THE SAME WEIGHT. THE COMPETITION IS GOOD, BUT ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO BE CHANGING
OUT WEIGHTS TO TRAIN WITH SOMEONE THATS TAKING ALL THE WEIGHT OFF BETWEEN SETS.

OTHERWISE PUT THE HEADPHONES IN AND DO IT IN BEAST MODE BY YOURSELF!!

Ok so ive been training alone for over ten years, ill holler to someone for a spot if i need it but i dont like talking to anyone when i work out.

Now that I have a GF and we go together, its been fun but it seems like i dont workout as long because shes "done" and wants to leave. So id say its made me workout at a faster pace, doing more supersets, but on days when i dont want to go shes there to motivate me. So it has its pro's and cons.

This is exactly the reason fuzo and I stopped going together years ago and now we don't even go to the same gym

yes absolutely. i have a number of people i train with. my wife is usually my number one training partner but i also train with a strongman guy and a couple other competitors male and female. some are better than others but it helps to have a good reliable partner that has the same goals. now i will say that when i train with my strongman buddy, we do tend to get alittle stupid at times and push the envelope a little. made some of my best gains training with him. the wife is there for a good push as well and has made some damn good improvements herself

Never liked a partner until I started working out with Trixie. Partner may push you if that what you need but to me they are just a pain in the butt. They show up late at times. They have personal problems and want to share the drama. Trixie is the best. We are happier when we are together day or night and I don't mind taking on and off the weight it is part of my work out.

                    Re: Training partner..Yes? No?

If you can find someone as dedicated as yourself, then I highly recommend it. There are a couple guys at my gym who lift together (have been for as long as I've been there) and they're both in great condition, push one another, and don't chit-chat/waste time. I'm jealous of that because it's great.

I haven't relied on a training partner since I graduated HS when we lifted as a team for baseball. I tried a few times in college, but people were unreliable and just screwed around. Don't get me wrong, I love to have fun, but that's not the time for it. So there are enough people I know at my gym I'll yell out to for a spot if I need it (I won't ask a stranger, because I don't trust them, and they'll likely be the type to try and rack my weight before I even ask for help). There are groups of 3 and 4 who lift together that talk and talk and talk and just waste space and time; I'd rather lift alone all day long (especially now with headphones and an endless supply of motivational music at my disposal).

i have had a few partners but for the most part their a pain in the ass. never on time or don't show, not as driven. now having said that the guy i am training with now is great, we both compete but are different weights and ages so we are not in direct competion, we try and do the same meets. i do have to work around his schedule but that is a minor inconvenience.

Alone. I dont talk to anyone and I walk around with a scowl on my face lol Just kidding about the scowl part, but I crack up at those guys who walk around in the gym trying to look mean
