since we have a couple members posting some pretty good opinion pieces here the last couple days, i thought hey i will do an opinion piece on the warrior mindset in our game. at least my opinion on that type of mindset:

    so here we go:

1- your goals and ambitions are and should only be driven by you and your will to succeed. if you are doing it to empress others, or for attention or for whatever other reasons you may have i can assure you that most likely you are going to fail miserably. you should set reasonable and attainable goals both short and long term. even if that is something simple as getting 8 hours of sleep

2-log. you absolutely have to log what you are doing in order to figure out what is and isnt working for you. that goes for training, diet supps, sleep and mood. this way when you hit or miss a goal you can go back and see what changed and how to fix it. also you can see where you are progressing and regressing in different areas

3-live you life. our sport is a 24/7 thing for us. that's no excuse not to have a life outside of it. you can sched your cheats and other breaks around events. prior planning goes a hell of a long way. i will hit that one later

4- hold yourself accountable. pretty simple one here. you are the one that drives your success. no one else to blame or praise except for yourself

5- plan everything down to a t but remain flexiable. cook your foods days in advance at least 1-3x a wk if you are out and about a lot. this prevents you from having things you dont need. timing workouts, meals etc.... if planned properly can be maintained even on the most hectic sched. time management skills are very important in this one.

6- surround yourself with like minded successful people. another one that goes without saying. it will get you nowhere being surrounded by people that always give you praise. the same also goes for people that bring you down.

7-focus and visualize. get your mind right going into training and maintain that focus. pretty simple one here.

8- no matter what or how hard it gets, dont ever give up or quit. winners never quit and you never know until you try.

i got more but i am going to summerize here so i dont get to long winded. find a good coach and or someone to sanity check everything you do. always plan and dont let anything hold you back. their are few things in the world that irritate the piss out of me more than weak minded people. dont blame someone else, never set out to do something to impress someone or to make someone approve of you. that never works out in the end. never leave anything on the table to look back and say, what if i wouldnt have skipped that cardio session? what if i would have trained a little harder? what if i wouldnt have cut that last set short? what if i hadnt cheated that one time? if you dont leave those questions on the table, then you can always look back and say i gave it my all and i am a damn success

            Re: Mindset

Great thread. This is definitely something we should keep ongoing. A positive mindset is paramount. This one below is something I always try to keep at the forefront.

            - Don't be afraid to fail. Fear of failure can prevent you from trying in the first place, and you can't win if you don't try. No fear. Give 100% in everything you do. As long as you gave it everything you have, you didn't fail... you learned. And learning to better yourself is part of being a champion.

Awesome. Here's one personal to me. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Whether in the gym or with personal issues. One affects the other and I fall prey to this all to often.

                    Re: Mindset

Balence is an important thing for me. I tend to throw myself headlong at something and get obsessed with it, then burn myself out. Its better to be better a little at a time and keep that going then to make a huge leap just to fall back later.

that's awesome you have came so far man. i have always had the stubborn mindset that if someone says i cant or wont, it drives me even harder to prove them wrong. i am a big self motivated person for sure and i am glad i am able to do so with no outside influence whatsovever. i do like a little drive and competition though and i try to keep a couple like minded driven people around me as much as possible.
