    On a barbell I never use the 35lb plates for anything. I've always just used 45's, 25's, and 10lb.

      i would say that since you are doing it and not making excuses that puts your far ahead of those that nail 600 with horrific form. not to mention it fits your purpose and i know for a fact that i can wear someone's ass out with nothing but a bar and a stop watch. and another one is you can make 135 feel like 500 with various other techniques other than lifting from point a to point b. heavy is a realitive term unless you are a power lifter or strength athlete

        I cant squat only seated presses and machines for my legs but I use all the dumbbells I even use the 2-1/2lbs plates

          i am having to cut weight, last week right now. after that the muscle mass won't matter so much i will go heavier. i have not trained for mass in 10 years. i do miss the rush of a 400# single rep, max effort squat. would take me a very long time to get there again.

            Was at a gym yesterday that has all those 2.5lb increment dumbbells! Your right I can't touch them! Lol! Why lift a 37.5 when you can do 40? Etc
