  • Using odd numbers when training

Does anyone use odd numbers instead of even numbers when training? For example...instead of 3x10 of something...do 3x11...etc.
I started doing this awhile back for no particular reason other than...why not? Who says our reps have to be sets of4..6...8 or so on? Plus for me it makes it more interesting if I'm doing my own thing instead of following what everyone else does.

Ya know, I hadnt thought about it, but every workout routine has even # reps. Odd # reps is a good idea.
I have tried counting my reps in German , but it didnt help much lol

Man that's a great idea. Where I would normally do a set of 10, I'm now going to do a set of 11. Odd numbers would give me that extra rep. Hell yeah!

When I’m doing time under tension set (which I incorporate a lot more) I always use 5 or 7...not sure why but I do lol

I like the trick went for a certain number. Like zone said I goto failure too. I use halfs for forced or negatives. BUT NEVER STOP AT 13!!! LMAO

I try to switch it up sometimes and just train till failure whether it's 12 or 13 or whatever reps. I've got some OCD going on so sometimes it's harder than it seems but I always try to just go till failure.
