  • Arimidex raises testosterone levels

Found this snip of info while researching

    Anastrozole...increase testosterone while lowering estrogen
Anastrozole has the ability to double a low testosterone male's bioavailable testosterone and increase his total testosterone by around two thirds. Anastrozole is used widely for just this purpose. One study looked at men over 60 years old and found an increase in testosterone of 62% and a decrease in estradiol, the "bad estrogen", of 24% for a net improvement in the testosterone-to-estradiol ratio of 115%. It took their total testosterone levels up from an average of 330 to 535 ng/dl.

Another study on infertile men with a T/E ratio less than 10 and total testosterone under 200 ng/dl found even more impressive results: total testosterone was increased by an average of 95%.

Anastazole actually works by binding to the aromatase enzyme that converts your testosterone into estrogen. Anastrozole effectively inhibits or blocks this conversion. One might expect estradiol to be affected more proportionately than testosterone, but in actuality it was testosterone that was affected more than estrogen in the above study.

Damn. I thought that nolvadex was not only cheaper but a better anti-estrogen! At least that's what a read a few year's back. I know that arimidex is the next generation of nolvadex (at least I thought that's what the article said!). And also it went on to say it was also somehow helped increase test levels and promoted fat loss more efficiently than arimidex and of course is is less expensive!

Kind of of the above states about arimidex! Was I given bad information or has the verdict changed on this subject recently? (w/in last couple years!)?

nolva and dex work off of entirely different mechanisms. nolva blocks the site where the estro will attach but doesnt lower estrogen and dex just straight up destroys estrogen. so estro drives fat so lowering it will or should pretty much increase fat loss. dont know how much i buy off on it increasing test but i would assume that it would free up more to circulate and bind with lower estro being present( more of a balancing out so to speak). on a side note, dex will absolutely crush your lipids with a quickness dropping your hdl down to single digits and shoot your ldl sky high

Thanks guns01 for the reply. So one blocks (nolva) and one destroys estrogen(arimidex). And arim costs more, highers bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol but also may promote fat loss better? If all that is correct, which is better or do you prefer taking everything into consideration? And is one preferred or known to work better at preventing gyno?

got to look at the risk to reward on that one man and goals as well. if you are getting a little estro side effects going on tossing in 20-40mg of nolva will keep you from growing boobs and water at bay. if your bloods come back and your estro is through the roof then dex would most likely be a better option at knocking it down but the trade off will be lipid issues. now if you are trying to get into nasty shape and as lean as humanly possible then dex is the route to take. another thing to take into consideration is that when you push estro super low then growth stops and you will most likely see issues with joint pain and drying on top of the lipid problems. best coa if lipids are a concern is to go with aromasin as it actually can help with bad lipids. bloods are about the only way to see what is working best and if you are creating more issues than you are helping with

without bloods man i would say none. if you are a little elevated on your bloods but not to bad i would go with nolva and just block it and not crush it

that's another thing that people jack up when tossing in anti e without blood work. if it is to high or to low it can keep you from getting hard and or destroy your sex drive completely. hormone balance is a tricky little game. got to get that sweet spot when trying to gain as well as to lean out. go a little over either way and it wrecks everything. then toss on that the lipid issues and it's a complete nightmare

Since I cant get blood work right now, Im tempted to try some of this bottle of liquid Nolvadex and see what happens.
Its 20 mg per ML. How about 5 mg, every other day?
                          Thanks!

hard to say dzone depends on how much estro you got flowing man haha. most normal protective dosing is around 20-40 per day

Thanks Guns! Ok, so I have about a months supply of liquid Tamoxifen if I do 20 mg a day. All I can do is go by how I feel. Maybe I should try it and see. If I feel like crap, then I guess it wasnt a good idea. LOL
