Quads are actually easy one of the easiest places for me to pin. I can sit down, use both hands and see what I'm doing. It's just almost impossible for me to do glutes. I'd really like to add them to my rotation, but for the life of me I can't turn that way.

i myself have had too much in the way of bad experiences with quads to wanna pin them on a regular, however, if i happen to be pinning a lot of gear i would make the sacrifice and put em in my rotation
everything said and done here is for entertainment purposes only. i don't even really workout i just pretend like i do so i can have big friends

Re: pinning quads scares the shit out of me!

most people's issues with pinning quads is due to two reasons 1-not going deep enough and 2-missing and going between the muscle. those are what cause 90% of the not being able to walk for a week. i have done it to myself more times than i care to admit and it sucks balls. something that i learned years ago is to pin the muscle that is being trained a hour or so prior and it helps to keep the leg dragging at bay most of the time. relax and stretch out and you shouldnt have an issue.

Alot of people think you should just pin in the middle of you thigh. But for most, the outer quad is bigger so thats where you want to go. Also, the front of your thighs/quads have more nerve endings than the sides. So the side of the outer quad is usually the most ideal spot.

I hate quads as well, Not sure why. I don't get terrible pain from it, something about it freaks me out. When I pin I get this weird shocking type feeling. I just breathe and wait a second and then continue. I still pin them though.

Split the distance from your hip to your knee, and go about 4 inches to the outside. Its a good spot.

Have yall pinned ventro glute? I can't pin my glutes anymore as well, but the ventro glute "hip shot" is bad ass.. I can jam 5ml easy and very little pain, easy to reach.

Delts, Ventro Glute, Chest are my go to spots.

Delts for me. I pinned quads a couple times and my thigh turned red and warm to the touch the next day and I could feel every step. Just not worth it when delts are so easy an painless.....

Pinned 3 cc's theis morning into my quads, love it, easiest place to pin. However, never, ever, ever pin water based maixed with an oil based in your quad, crippling paind for at least a week.

Re: pinning quads scares the shit out of me!

No question this quad muscle is very dense. Glutes are soft on 99% of dudes. Yet, I cant' twist and do glutes. So, I use a 1" pin 25ga. I go up and down the outer side of the quad. two shots a week. Yeah, there is some post shot sting. Yeah, some times for a few days it is kinda pink in that area. But I just figure it is what it is. Far from "crippling"

Just relax the leg while sitting down. Clean the area and poke the pin in. Pull back plunger and look for air bubble. Slowly press into leg. Thick oil might take a minute. IMO the quad is right there in front of you. Easy to see. No twisting. Calm just be calm.

Re: pinning quads scares the shit out of me!

I used to feel exactly as you did about quads, then started pinning them anyway just so I had the rotation down...And 6p6 is correct: even the best gear can be painful...I have had the blood thing before, you just hit nerves or a bad spot...the next 10 in a row may be perfect though! I usually go about midway up my quad and a little to the outside...I don't go super deep since I don't carry much bodyfat in my legs...I don't go above 2cc, sometimes prefer 1-1.5...

I have had the biggest lump ever off of a bad one, then not a damn bit of PIP of the next 20 shots haha

im a recent newb to quad pinning, and i dont get all these horror blood/nerve stories, havent experienced one yet, and i find the quads to be the EASIEST place to pin. i focus on upper outer thigh, hardly ever a drop of blood, however i have had some bad pip. the pip usually hits its peak the next day after the pin. this last run i did i pinned my quad right before an intense leg workout and amazingly no pip at all. i went from pretty harsh muscle pain to zip. think i may have something here, looking to test this out again in the coming weeks.

I think you are definitely on to something because I also pin upper outer quad (i just did 5min ago actually lol) and when I work out the legs heavy there is little to no PIP afterward...It must help dissipate the solution...
