The sad part is that because of abuse and addiction, people who are in legitimate and excruciating pain can sometimes be denied legitimate pain relief.

pain killers are a bad thing i had a addiction to vicoden for years but sober now and only use tramadol for spine pain

There might be 5 out of 100 people that get prescribed pain killers that legitimately need them.

I think there is a need for them but they are way overprescribed. Should also be prescribed short term. Post surgery, many people need them but usually not for than a week

^ Yea thats what I think. Post surgery or extreme cases like cancer or aids or something. I don't understand people taking them for head aches and back aches and bs like that. I have a permanently broken bone in my leg and all i take is alleve.

i saw on the news yesterday how they fast tracked this med for approval then on top of the fast track the panel said it wasnt a good option. yet they still approved it against the panel's rec. funny thing is they had two docs one pro and one against and the one for had to point out that lots of meds get approval against the panels rec. the basis for the approval was the benefit out weighs the risks. i smell money has a big role in this just like all the other meds people dont need

yea i hate pain killers they took time from me ill never get back i was out of the gym for over two years because i liked vicoden more than myslef
