i'm on my winter into spring pre-cutter and thus far my meal prep and training has been taking a beating with the snow plowing and snow removal afterwards. I did 70 hours last week and put in another 60 this week with my regular job for the city along with plowing/pickup duties on OT. i love the extra money towards vacation and all but same thing happened last year, i started my back in the gym time after shoulder rehab for rotator cuff surgery and then the snow beat the shyt out of us here almost every other day. booked rooftop suite in cancun and had plenty of cash for fun but my body was way off from the other years because after being up 56 out of 72 hours at a time working the planning of meals and getting up for 3:30 alarm to be doing cardio at 4 am took too many hits. hoping weather report is right and there's no snow for the foreseeable future here so i can get back to my routine. i'm still weighing around 195-200 right now and goal is to hit jamaica at 175 -180 and rock hard so laser focus is required.

Re: winter sucks balls
Luckily winter in my neck of the woods isn't that intense. We get some snow every once in a while, but nothing serious. I know a lot of the country is getting a beating though. They were mentioning some crazy temps on the news. I couldn't even fathom being out in some of those temperatures.

Re: winter sucks balls
i bet the money is great from the OT but its a pain in the ass to try and get anything planned or done.. i've been the same way over the last few months. work has been busy but we are way behind on sales so that has kept me busy and not been able to go to the gym like i want..

Re: winter sucks balls
I don't like the extra work involved with beavy snow, but on the whole I love winter. I love a cold, clear, crisp day. The air feels great! I love it when the lakes freeze solid and I can skate on them. I love the look of freshly fallen snow in the fields, especially at sunset, when the woods is silhouetted against the sky. I love the way the woods sounds with a blanket of snow everywhere. I love a fire in my wood stove.
My wife is retired, and my truck is 4wd, and I have a plow. So all I really "need" to do is get myself out the driveway and to the street on a work day. The rest can wait until I get to it, for the most part. Though she gets stir crazy if trapped in the house much more than a day or so. And we have a contractor that does most of the snow clearing at work. So, I don't have the awful OT hours like the OT dedcribed. That is awful.
Also, winter where I am is totally unpredictable. Sometimes we get a real winter. This year we've had a couple of cold snaps (down to single digits) and a couple minor snows, but yesterday was, and today is expected to be low 60's. I like T-shirt weather, but I'd rather the lakes freeze in February!

That alone makes winter okay in my book. I love summer, but you gotta deal with the bugs and snakes

Re: winter sucks balls
Winter is the most depressing for me. cold, dark, rainy, snow and ice, electric bills go up 200 bucks or more, gotta' wear layers of clothes, everything is dead and brown. You can have it.Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.
