  • Need Help with Intensity!!!!!!

So I have been training for about a year. I am going to go on stage in october in bikini. I have been training for physique division for about a year and now I have had to switch to bikini workouts which is all at 20 reps for a zillion sets.

    I have lost drive
    I have lost intensity
I have lost all want to work out

I love training and I love being in the gym but I just dont know how to keep being excited about this many reps.

I challenge anyone to do 20 reps for 4 sets for an entire week of workouts. I need to try to figure out how to stay positive and want to lift. I do a lot of cardio already and I still lift really heavy but I don't sweat much during and it just sucks.

    Having some trouble!!

I watch motivational videos when I get that way and it helps me get motivated, also new song choices along with a badass pre workout drink. Good luck and stay strong

ok, with everything you listed and broke down, sounds like you are either over trained or your cns/immune system is in the gutter. you may not be consuming enough cals to support such a high volume of training.
i am guessing that since you were already training for physique you have a ton of knowledge and experience but i will see if i can give a few pointers on hitting some high rep stuff without completely wrecking your cns and your body.

1- add in some drop sets or pause sets to hit your desired rep ranges
2-use small jumps in weight so you can still hit your numbs but still increasing your weights from set to set.
3- make sure you are getting enough cals to support how much you are burning during you sessions

i personally do sets for legs that range from 6 reps all the way up to sets of 100 with some pretty heavy weight. back can go the same way but not quite as high on the reps and both are butt kickers. if you switched your training to incorporate high rep stuff for tonning, then that isnt the best course of action because this is a myth lol. your diet and macro breakdown as well as your genetics are going to make that determination for you, not so much how you train. if you are doing the high rep stuff for additional cardio (that just sucks and is brutal lol). what i do with my lady clients is a combo of rep ranges to target both types of fiber. we will focus a movement or 2 on lower end reps with explosiveness for the type 2 muscle fibers and strength/power then hit a couple exercises for pump and type 1 fiber going in ranges of 10-20 depending on the body part. something that i didnt know and learned a little while back is that women need to put a bit more focus on fast twitch because they dont carry as much due to their body makeup. so we hit them every session for at least one movement. i may be rambling here but hopefully i helped out a little bit

Thank you all so much!! I am not going to give up, I think this is just a crappy few weeks for me and lifting. I love lifting and wont be ever giving up on it, just the drive is not there but I keep doing it because I have to do it and push past my limits. No matter what happens I will keep lifting. No one offended me either.

                Thanks for the great tips!

Music and some caffeine usually help me. Sometimes I'll think of something that pisses me off and take it out on the weights lol.

I do 15-20 reps per set
go out and buy something you will only use in the gym. headphones...nice ones. gym gear. make a preworkout yourself that is what has helped me lately it has pushed me even harder and im able to focus much more since it is always consistent not like store bought preworkouts that are not consistent.
                        caffine
                        workout partner...available lol
change up your work out if you arent feeling the body part switch to a different one to not waste the time. or just go but pumps if a movemnts doesnt give you a pump move on and try coming back to it later.
eat more carbs or fats it can all affect your day.
                        hope this helps

Try picturing your competition doing the same workouts. They do not get tired, they do not give up, they are waiting for you to fail so they can have the prize. How far are you willing to go to win it all. This is where it becomes you against you. This is the part thats gonna make you a champion or the woman that stands on stage wishing that they had pushed farther and saying maybe next year I will do it. CRUSH IT!
