funny a lot of BB guys bag on crossfit but it is creeping into BB
What you won't see from crossfit to bodybuilding is the reps/weight/performance vs a clock. This is the single most idiotic thing crossfit brings to the table and why unless your an advanced crossfitters your pretty much doomed to hurt yourself. (I will also add there are a whole host of recently made up exercises that will never have a purpose in normal athletics and bodybuilding such as gay ass kipping).

Originally posted by jipped genes View Posti disagree. this is why a crossfit athlete will have more functional strength than a BB. Yeah i still do not understand kipping. i have been doing crossfit for strength and cardio for a while now. used to BB so i see it from both sides and love each the same. my goals are not to be as big as possible but to perform better. and i do. CF has so much more ROM drills and pushing cardio to the max is great
Mostly what I'm referring to is the training methods of CF are nothing new. Long before CF was named I was doing very similar workouts as part of the job I held. I think most LE, firefighter, military will tell you CF is nothing new also. Take a look at a SWAT school first day team relay. This is pretty much been around for 20-30 years and is day one at swat school. It includes multiple ROM, cardio and strength all in a timed skilled graded scenario. So all I'm saying is CF'ers seem to think they are Gods creation to fitness and truth is this crap has been around since the Romans and Greeks and original Olympians.
I don't have really any issue with CF my brother is a CF nut and is in the upper advanced level. I throw in some of that training routinely because I like to be as functional as possible.
You should post up more of your stuff jipped so we can all learn too! I'm always for making myself better. At 37 I care more about climbing a mountain than lifting the base rocks at the bottom if you know what I mean. I basically structure my workouts in the beginning focus on a few basic lifts of that body part with normal rest between sets and then I go balls to the wall doing tons of crap back to back.
