But let's also look at this in a different mannor:

S2000 Vs 5.0 Mustang.. it's possible to built both to make 400HP.

BUT.. the mustang is a heck of alot cheaper to do, and will do it alot more reliably.

S2000 Vs. 5.0 Mustang at 800HP. There's lots of 800HP 5.0's out there. But how many 800HP S2000's? While I'm sure it's possible to get that kind of power out of the s2000, it'd still be a hell of an acomplishment... and it probably wouldn't be streetable.
I agree about the price point, I completely disagree about the Reliability point. Hondas will almost always outlive an mustang in stock or modified form. Take my Supra for example. I made 761RWHP on stock internals, Stock Pistons, Rods, Block. The only thing I changed is the Cams to HKS units and a set of cam gears. I think Imports will always be more reliable than a Domestic. I dont think a 800HP mustang wil be streetable @ all. My car pushed the upper limits of a Street car that has huge amounts of HP. The Clutch alone is very expensive and Jarring on the tranny, and not to mention your leg.

I had a kid pull up beside my Cobra at a light in a slammed, giant spoiler, fart cannon, gauges up the side of the inner door Saturn, and start revving his shit like he was going to blast off into space. When that light turned green, I waited a second and then fuckin' gunned it right passed that little piece of shit. And then I slowed down. Wouldn't you know that little dick came flying up past me trying to give it another run.
      Funny.

        Supra maybe...

I have really high doubts that a s2000 engine would be reliable at anything over 400HP. Stock 5.0's with the factory hyperutectic slugs are known to be reliable up to around the 500HP point. Over that and you've got to start swapping stuff out.

At over 700hp, I would start doubting the longevity of your engine. It's amazeing it can even hold it together with that much power. Plus this is a 3.0L 6cyln engine built for boost. Not a 2.0 (is that right) 4cyln designed to be run naturally aspirated.

What have you done to this car BTW? Must be a heck of alot of mods to be pushing 750+ HP.

Oh, and a naturally aspirated 5.0L @800HP wouldn't be very streetable. But a 800hp twin turbo 5.0L would be very streetable. NOVI makes a twin turbo kit for the 5.0L that claims to be able to make 1100 streetable horsepower with free flowing exhaust, a ford E series Cam, and 54lb injectors. Granted the stock bottom end would blow apart pretty damn quick.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.

As far as the Sup goes, I have an HKS T51R KAI Turbo, Tial Racegate, HKS SS Turbo Manifold, 4" Downpipe, 4" HKS Titanuim Exhaust, Alot of Fuel mods, used to have all HKS electronics such as EVC, VPC, GCC. Now I have the car in the shop getting a Stand Alone EMS. Should give me about another 30 on the top end and alot in the midrange. OS Giken Clutch with HD pressure plate, HKS 264 Cams and cam gears. Im sure im missing stuff but i cant remember. Too much to list.

As far as my cars reliablility, there are a bunch of High HP supras dialy driven with even more HP then my car. Some of them can be found @ www.to4r.com Most of these supras are all stock internally(Stock rods pistons etc etc).

Twin Turbo 5.0 is alot of work but it would be fast, Bottom end will def blow apart....

hell ya vandoo... happened to me all the time. i actually did have a nitrous set up in the olds for a while. never again.. nitrous sucks. it should be a last resort for more power. the kits are expensive, getting the nitrous is expensive, its a pain in the ass to drive out to get, and all for what? so you can put extra stress on the engine.

you guys have to admit that as soon as half the population of mustang owners buys them, they think they are fast and bad ass too! half the time i dont know whats worse, a kid in a mustang or a civic. most mustangs are DOG's. there are a few excepts like the new cobras and all, but in the 90's they were pretty slow. you need to do some decent mod's to get speed out of them

Let's not forget the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. These ar a 2.0 Liter AWD Turbo car and they come stock at 210 HP and have since 1989. It doesn't take a whole lot to pull more HP out of them either. I know people who have gotten 750+ hp out of these cars and people get them above 500hp all the time with mostly bolt on mods. Mine should be pushing 300+ as soon as I get my fuel system put in today and all I have is a 3" intake, a 50 trim T3/T4 turbo and a fuel system to support it. If I add front mount IC so I can turn up the boost to 22psi+ and a 3" turbo back exhaust to get rid of all that extra air/fuel and I'll be spanking many of you (if not most) off the line.

                          2 things:

                          1) Four Cylinders are NOT economy cars any more, I get less than 12 miles to the gallon (but I also run 650cc injectors on my setup).

                          and

                          2) I don't and never will have a coffee table strapped to the ass end of my car (and my cars rear wheels actually do something).

Please do me a favor and make a distinction between imort HP fanatics and teenage ricers that attach a coffee can to the end of their 1 1/4 inch exhaust pipes to make it sound like what they think a 3" manifold back catless exhaust is supposed to sound like.

My personal favorites are the guys with the Mustangs or the Grand Ams with the rear wings and GT-R emblems (as in Skyline {Nissan}) emblems on them, and don't get me started on the Domestics with Japanese letter stickers on them.

No man, Supras are 700+ HP cars tuned down for the American market and emissions laws. All you have to do with those and a lot of the Japanese imports is take out the restrictions and emissions crap like EGR's, intake silencers, etc. and they run quick as hell.

Remember these factory Turbo cars come with things that most people consider upgrades. Metal Head gaskets, Forged Pistons, high strength rods and crankshafts, etc.

Yes, the 4th gen. supra is definitely an overbuilt block at the factory. Just uncork it elsewhere!

I certainly don't have the mods you have, but I'll just go ***** to my wallet, lol.

94TT 6spd @ 54K miles with roughly 360-370hp at the tires (16lbs boost, exhaust, stock twins, custom cold air intake)
