    Rapamycin

    what's everyone's take on this new drug trial currently running to extend the lives of older dogs? would you try it for your loved furry pal? i follow a woman on Instagram whose elder pitbull was taking this and had to stop due to side effects. I saw on the news shows yesterday they are considering trying human trials next in the next 3-5 years. would you be willing to give it a shot? i'd have to see it do wondrous things for quality of life for either my dog or myself to risk the side effects that can come with any drug. i wouldn't want to live longer just for the sake of "living" if it meant no improvement in physical movement or mental acuity. i want to exist to live not live just to exist. thoughts?

    This is the first I've ever heard of it and don't really have the knowledge base to know what it does, but as far as lengthening your lifespan, I totally agree with you. It would have to be able to improve some aspects of life, otherwise your body would deteriorate so much with age that it would almost become pointless. Like you said, living just to continue existing.

      ID BE WILLING TO TRY IT! THE ONLY THING IS ABOUT A YEAR LATER YOU WILL END UP SEEING LAWYERS ON COMMERCIALS ASKING IF YOU WERE
      HURT OR INJURED BY IT AND WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! SOME OF THE NEW DRUGS OUT THERE HAVENT BEEN THOROUGHLY
      TESTED AND THEY END UP DOING IT ONCE IT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC!! THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WILL DO!

        no way man. the companies damn sure know what the can and will do. they have it factored into their profit margins when the class action suits hit. the way i read it was if they make 22 billion and lose 10 billion then it is worth marketing and releasing the drug. i am not using the exact numbers but that's how the system is set up
