Obituary
Gene Darrell Crump III of Hudson passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Crump was born March 24, 1987 to Janey Trivette Porter and the late Gene Darrell Crump JR. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul T. Riley.
Tres'was a loving and devoted son and brother. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to trout fish. The outdoors was his favorite place to be. He had a kind ,compassionate nature. Tres' was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Janey Porter and husband James of Lenoir, brother, Christopher Allen Hood and wife Shannon of Cary, NC, sister, Deanna Lawson of Lenoir, step sister, Jamie Porter of Granite Falls, niece, Lilly of Cary, NC, paternal grandparents Gene and Betty Crump of Lenoir, maternal grandmother, Reba Riley of Hudson, aunts, Donna Wilson of Granite Falls, Barbara Scott of Hudson, uncles, Jack Taylor of Granite Falls and Gwyn Taylor of Newton, cousins, Katherine Scott, Nikki Scott of Hudson.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11 2016 at 2:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home in the chapel with Reverend Stephen Widener officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Allen Hood, James Porter, Mike Barlow, Kenneth Beard, Kenneth Ross and Gwyn Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the NC Autism Society at ATTN: Memorial Gifts 505 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27605 or you may go to www.autismsociety-nc.org/donate.
