Politics Really Brings Out People's True Nature

I am not political and I don't really care who wins. What gets me is all the FB stuff bashing candidates and name calling. People who say be nice to one another and treat everyone with respect become little children when it comes to politics. I don't get why seemingly intelligent people act the way they do over this topic. What's worse is they ralley the troops, usually younger and more easily influenced people to show them how "dumb" one candidate is vs another. not sure why people waste so much time in a topic they can do so little about.

It is just another thing some are passionate about than others. To me, it is no different then one arguing over something else. We didn't really get as involved in politics till our 40's, and when I became active in a much smaller version of 'politics' in my community.. I didn't even vote until back when Obama was first running. the beauty of anything is if you don't like it you don't have to look at it or take part in it. Me, I could care less what others opinions are whether it be politics, religion, or whatever. At this stage of my life. and the shape this country is, I am much more concerned about the future for the children in our world. If I had a personal FB, I would most likely have about 5 friends, lol. I enjoy FB and seeing what others opinions are. As far as them acting like kids, we see that all over social media.

As far as true nature, we only know people so much, whom we connect with on line. In fact some of us have gotten to know some who really weren't who they claimed to be behind the screen. Who really knows. All I know is I yam who I yam and that's all that I yam,lol

Need to disagree with your premise: Not to be political shows that you are dismissing one of the two most important things that effects your life. All the other thing talk about on face book and or all other social media is nonsense. People get intense because we have been taught a lie not to discuss Religion and Politics and those two topics that are the most important.

Need to disagree with your premise: Not to be political shows that you are dismissing one of the two most important things that effects your life. All the other thing talk about on face book and or all other social media is nonsense. People get intense because we have been taught a lie not to discuss Religion and Politics and those two topics that are the most important.

I will let it go because this is your thread. The only way to interrupt your opening statement is a belittling of those who care about a very important process in our nation. Calling them children and seemly intelligent (stupid). I am one of those people and very proud of it and disagree with your statement totally.

I hear what you are saying but to me FB is hardly a place to judge who is intelligent and/or rational. Our country is in a terrible place, made worse over the past years, with Obama in charge. This is bringing out all kinds of feelings within people. Subjects like these can always get heated, but if they get brought up, then people should respect other's opinions...imo,lol.

Only way it can be interpreted is the way I wrote it. I know exactly what I was saying. How could anyone take offense to what I said.... When people resort to name calling and childish behavior its underwhelming. I admire passion and good debate. I dislike unthought full mud slinging. Not sure what you don't understand about that. i can sum it up pretty easily when it comes to both sides: the left says they are all about love tolerance and taking care of the poor and less fortunate. yet the are some of the most hateful anger filled people you will ever meet. the right on the other hand preach the old way of respectful traditional non progressive beliefs. this is more of i dont want the gov involved in 99% of their lives they want religion at the forefront(for the most part) but can be somewhat angry but usually offer solutions that are mathmatically senseable for the most part.

i personally love a good debate myself as long as their is substance and solutions from both sides but the sad fact of the matter that i have discovered is this: you cant argue with a liberal 99% of the time even when you can put facts right in front of their face. myself personally i dont understand how people can back either side due to the lack of action and blatant corruption that is rampant in our gov. to me they are all dirty
