  • Who Loaned Money in 2015?

I LOVE the people that I loaned money to in 2015. I also think that they should be able to be smart enough to make arrangements to pay it back in small increments over a long period of time if they care about me at all. However all of them have removed me from social media and will not even return a Merry Christmas message. I would offer many times more support now if only they would acknowledge the debt and keep me in the loop of how their families are doing. Can anyone tell me how to handle this issue?

Idk. I had to learn my lesson the hard way. I don't have a ton of money in the first place. If I had the money back I loaned out the past few years I could buy a car lol.

I hate owing anyone money, and that is why I don't borrow from anyone, lol. I am done with helping in that way, as well. I am sorry that happened to you Trixie, but people that do that tend to write people off and move on to someone else that will help. I hope you get some of what you put out back. When something is loaned, it is just that...intent to pay back. Sad to say but if they haven't made any attempt at all yet, then you probably won't see a dime back

I would rather buy you a car as a gift and never think of it again. A gift is much different than a loan. Any communication would make me happy.

I agree. It just makes it worse if they avoid you, especially if its family or a close friend. I'm not upset with those that I've done that for, but I'd be happy if they didn't just take my money and disappear.

I Have owed a lot of money throughout the years but I have always tried to pay back if only at $25 at a time. I have never cut off people who could help my family in the long run.

I have had to borrow in my life from my parents, but like you said, they always got it back even though they didn't want it.

Rule 1 only loan money to those who would loan to you.
rule 2 loan the money with no expectations. If they pay they pay.. with that said I have given away ALOT more than I have loaned . Now if those you loan cut you out consider it a blessing you paid for a problem to go away and it only cost you "X"..

this is only my thought and my blood does run cold at times

If it is a "loan" then it is expected to be paid back, imo. If it is a gift, then that is different.

The problem is the person giving the loan is aware of this 100% of the time however the receiver seem aware of that some of the time so you loan the money with intent of getting it back but reality has taught me im only right some of the time.. easier to let it go when you already in your head consider it a gift

Oh man I can't tell ya how often this happens to me and funny you bring it up, a long time buddy had to borrow 20$ off me today which is nothing and I'm not worried about it if he pays it back or not BUT it's the principle and with large amounts of money loaned I expect it back in any way even in small increments... It honestly makes my blood boil when ppl don't do the right thing but it's also ppl like that you are better off not being around I call them mooches or leaches they can only bring you down. I'd wright them off and go on with being the bigger person... Karma will get them

Sorry you're having to go through that. I've been burned loaning money before too and totally understand how aggravating it is. I'd say them removing you from social media is a sign they aren't able or wiling to pay the debt back. If it were me, I'd follow up with every avenue I could find to contact them. That's what I did in the past and on a couple occasions it paid off. However, I've been burned a few times as well and was pretty much forced to write it off as a loss. I was livid, but unfortunately contact went to zero and has stayed that way since. Their actions show they obviously aren't prepared to pay it back, so you'll most likely have to reach out some way and press the issue. I'm hoping it works out for you. Fingers crossed.

i never loan real $$$. $20 here or there no biggie but thousands? if you loan it to people you love a lot of times they feel like you owe them something because you are so close or kin and just do not feel compelled to pay it back. that is how my mother in law is. she says to my wife "i raised you, you should take care of me"

@uck her. never again. we loaned her $$$ for bond to get out of jail and she ran. we lost our bond. never again
