I used to be such a huge proponent of positivity. I have fallen so far by tye wayside it has damaged my way of life. Trying starting today to take my life back.
What are some things you guys do for positive affirmation? I have been struggling for quite some time and change is needed.
OH boy you hit the right sista here. Are you a book reader? I know you go on FB? there are so many pages that give positive affirmations daily. look at them instead of all the crap on FB. If you like a lot of things on them , your newsfeed will end up full of them and this is what you will see mostly. You have to replace negative words with positive. say them over and over, out loud, in your head whatever it may be. the BEST think right here is you are saying this, and you want change. You can do this. It is not an easy road. Don't beat yourself up about the past, something you cant change. there is truly something good in everything. I am going to use an example since I know you have 2 great kids you love dearly. Remember this, as this is something I always say to myself, without your wife you would not have your 2 miracles. There is no time limit on someone's personal journey and there WILL be ups and downs. look around you, try to be come aware and inspired. make some time for just you daily even if it is minutes...without distractions.
Nine years ago when I had my hip surgery I knew I would be sitting around more for awhile. I bought a book titled The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. I highly recommend it. I have always felt that whether it be from a book, a meeting, a class, etc, one can always take at least something good from it and apply it to themselves. Ok now time to work on my shit, lmao. Good to see you back here zoot

Thank you..I used to be an avid reader. I am going to go pull my boxes of books out of the closet. I have a few books on positive energy and in fact I may have that exact book you're speaking of. I deactivated fb for a lil bit till i get my head focused. It's a bad place for me as it was the start of most of the negativity recently. It's good to be back here...first I'll get my head right then start working on the body..cause, yikes..lol
If it is not good for you than definitely stay away. It is fun for me and inspiring. I dont have much family or people that drain me on their with their negativity. It had bothered some family and friends that I deny their request but id about me not them. B
I just try to think positive about everything even the bad things in life I think God means to teach me somthing with this. I will also think of positive memories like fun times as a child or times with my wife it works most of the time but if I get really blue I just suck it up and watch some movies and feel better after that
I think even being aware of whats going on and how you are feeling is huge ZOOT. After that its time for action. I think most of us know why we feel the way we do and what needs to change in order for us to fell better. A big help for me is to look back and realize that I have been down before and that the feeling does not last forever. Keep crushing ZOOT! you got this.

I think one of the biggest things I've learned over the years is how important it is to not worry so much and surround yourself with positive things and people. I was always a big worrier and I think it really hampered my outlook and positive energy. I would worry about the past, worry about the future and everything in between lol. It just made me feel negative all the time.
Like Baby1 said, there's something good in everything. Once I was aware of the worry and made the decision to stop worrying so much, I started feeling so much more positive. I started seeing all the good things and that made it much easier to pay less attention to the negatives. The more positive I became, the more positive things I noticed would come my way. I agree with LT, a huge step is being aware of how you're feeling and you've just acknowledged that. Next is to start focusing on all the positives and letting go of the negatives. Surround yourself with the things and people that make you happy, don't worry about the past or the future, and just focus on being the best person you can be for yourself. You got this brotha.
