I'd definitely invest in a security system. I have one for my home with a motion detector that will start recording video and alert my phone if triggered. Doesn't do much to deter a thief from breaking in, but at least you know as soon as it happens and have video of them as well. Add an alarm system to that and you'd be doing all you could do.

Man that sucks, nothing like feeling violated like that! I'm really sorry brother. Totally the pits and the feeling of helplessness as far as getting revenge or your shit back doesn't help.

definitely sounds like someone high causing a raucous...i would get security cams...they are not that expensive and can link to your tablet/smart phone/lap top too!

Its a weird feeling looking at drawers with my private information opened and gone through and cabinets left open. Knowing that someone was in there. Oh well, the thing I am so utterly grateful for is that they left the main computer. Wow. Let me tell ya, had they taken that, my life would have been turned upside down. Nothing was backed up, I am a little embarrassed to admit. Well, yesterday I got on carbonite for $99 a year to back up that entire computer. Now, it is no big loss if someone hauls off the computer. The cop said thieves prefer laptops over desk tops, maybe thats why they left mine, I dont know but I am damn glad they did.

I just busted my neighbor who has been stealing our packages for the past month and a half. The guy is a shit in and I never expected it to be him being that most of the people that live in our building are college students. I spent $80 on a 12 megapixel webcam which was recording non stop through the peephole in my door. The software I used on my MacBook is DVR.OneDrive-Webcam Edition. It's free as long as you are ok with a max of 8 hours of recording.

I had mine set up to alert me via email if it detected movement. I won't show the image I received of him taking the package with prenatal pills my wife ordered, but you can see the view I had...

The quality is crap because the peephole has scratches on the outer lens... If you place a webcam in a hidden spot with enough light, you should be able to see everything clearly.

That app also allows for more than one camera... So you could use multiple security cameras or webcams without the need to pay someone for their service.

BTW, when the cops tossed his apartment to retrieve my stuff, they came out with the prenatal pill bottle half empty.

back in feb of this year my shop had one of our del trucks stolen it was a 99 f150 I came in and asked if anybody took it home last night and maybe there not here yet bc its parked next to my parking spot. when everybody was accounted for and no truck I walked back outside and seen where some shit head cut our 8ft tall chain link fence and opened it right up and drove our truck thru the hole. sad thing is I didn't know they also stole a customers truck which was a 05 super duty we installed new injectors in didn't know that till the next day when he came to get is truck and I gave him the keys after he paid his bill and he walked around and couldn't find it.. good news they caught the guys who did it and we got our truck back but he didn't. they are known dirt bags who live on this side of town and they just got out of jail back in oct of last year they were out maybe 5 months until they got caught again.. these guys are in there 50's. it was a huge local story bc these guys have stolen over 40 diesel super duty trucks....

good luck bro put the word out around town that you got stuff stolen check craigslist and pawn shops these guy problem needed money for drugs plain and simple...the guy who broken into my shop were meth heads.. been dirt bags since they were 18 and now there in there 50's and there still dirt bags.. white trash...........
