what have you done or not done that you regret?

ok so here is the deal, this is just a goofy post about my life, thought some of you might have things also. #1 i would not change what i have gone thru cause i am pretty happy with how my life turned out. but...
when i was in high school their was a guy who had gym the same time as me and somehow he had gotten tagged as a gay, he was not into sports, i think he was into the school paper, choir, something like that. well when ever he was in the locker room the guys, (mostly the football team as i remember) would call him faggot and other names and throw dirty towels at him. now i don't know if he was gay or not, but nobody ,even the coaches ever said a thing about it. i had a rep in high school as a fighter (which is funny cause i am not very good at it lol) i could have said something and probably got away with it, i had friends on the team who would have stuck up for me, but i was afraid of them turning on me. later in life i learned you have to protect the weak (if you can) anyway that lack of courage has always bothered me.

Great post man! I am far from a follower or whatever you call it. Thinking back at some decisions I made or how I acted because of what other people might think is crazy.

I have hundreds of regrets. I will never be happy about the way my life turned out because I know I could and should of done better. I am still weak but try every day to do the right thing. I was a fighter in High school and loved every minute of it in a sick way. I was a bully in junior high but got mad at myself and by high school decided to go after the bullies. I thought that was the righteous thing but looking back it was just some way for me to justify to myself that it was ok to hurt people. There was the kid that was clearly crazy and odd walk the halls like a robot, dressed weird and was sexually confused and did guys like to pick on him. So I took up the cause thinking I was the great protector. I kicked the crap out of everybody who so much said boo to him. I would sneak around and hide just waiting for some hot shot to knock the books out of his hand or trip him or whatever so I could get my buzz from taking on some bully. Well I got kicked out of school for fighting. The next year the kid I was protecting thought he should protect himself brought a gun to school shot some kids and ended up in jail. Was it my fault? Maybe.

one of my biggest regrets is not serving in the military. went down and took my asvab and was ready to swear in but got clod feet and walked out of the motel.

also not working hard in college. ended up with 2 associates rather than a bachelors. many employers like an associates but they always ask why 2 and not the bach? like a GED for college

also regret what i did to gal in highschool. i did her way wrong. will not expound as you guys would think i am a real dick. i think about how my actions may still haunt her. i am glad i feel bad still after 30 years. that way i know it is true regret

I struggled with addiction for a great many years....it got to the point where there were not many substances I had not tried...I came from a great family, double bachelor degree pursuing an MBA and I still couldn't get it under control...that was a while ago and I am incredibly grateful every single day that I was blessed with a second chance....I wouldn't look like it but you are talking to a recovered heroin addict....

Do I regret everything!? My life is incredible today...but there are things I wish I hadn't done and people I wish I hadn't hurt...But God works in mysterious ways

my parents got divorced my freshman year of high school (no it is not their fault what i chose to do, i am responsible for my own actions) and mom became a alcoholic, she worked as a waitress in the evenings and then would go out and close down the bars, i might or might not see her for day's. dad was not around. well you give a 15 year old that kinda freedom and they go wild. hang out with the wrong crowd and so on. my regret is i did not take high school serious . it was just a place to hang out, i flunked everything. my junior year i turned 18 and dropped out, got a ged. worked min. wage jobs till i was 20 and joined the air force, spent 20 yrs in. even with the ged my lack of education held me back, even thiugh i took college courses (12 credits away from my a.s.) their were so many of the fundamentals i lack. but i am blessed with some common sense and spell check on the computer (and a calculator lol)

Life is good, but damn, I regret all the partying and chasing tail that so consumed my earlier years. If I had only known better, I could have spent my time in a much more constructive fashion. Did I have a helluva good time? Oh , absolutely! LOL...
But life is a thousand times better now without all of that

I don't think I will ever regret something I did. The thing i didn't do that I regret is that I didn't go play triple a college football. I got a partial scholarship for a community college to play football but, i turned it down because it was a community college. When I couldn't get into a Division 1 football program, i tried again for the lower level school. but, i was too late. Which is why I'm in the Army now. Only time will tell if it remains a regret or becomes the best decision of my life. As for now I regret not playing football.

I regret a lot of bad things I have done in my past to people I had a bad drinking problems once and made my wife's life hell. I was selfish and lazy. I hate to even think of that year I was drinking 24/7 but god saved me from myself and I got sober and have been for over ten years now I have a social drink from time to time but I try to live ed by serving my wife and our family and freinds. I give all I can to help other people now I do regret accepting Christ back into mylife when I beat drinking and will never go that way agin I made a lot of loved ones unhappy back then. Now with my Fg family and my wife nothing can bring me down just keep moving forward and be the best man I can be ed

Wish I had stayed in church my whole life instead of in and out like I have. Whether you believe in that or not, it helps me feeling like I'm doing something right.
Rake sounds alot like me. Except I got picked on for a while as a kid. My first fight i got my butt beat. I decided that wasnt happening again and I beat the crap out of everyone who looked at me wrong for years after. I got over that overtime tho, I cant remember the last time i ws actually really mad.

i think this goes for every guy here , chasing tail and partying was fun but it is so much better when you meet your soul mate. we have been together off and on for 25 years
