Patriot Protection out in Plano. I have nothing to gauge it by but I have been around gun guys a lot and heard nothing but good stuff. i have been back and damn those sims sting like a paintball. they are going much faster but do not have the mass of a paintball.
I used to play competitive paintball, so im used to the sting. I will have to look into taking a force on force class. In the near future I plan on moving, and I love the idea of moving someplace that is free. This way I can start aquiring class III items, and start collecting NFA stamps.

sims are night and day difference from paintball. it is about as close to a real engagement as you can get for sure. when you move to a new state man the majority have good training centers for the most part. take a look at xe or just google up blackwater courses man. they are not to bad expensive and the training is top notch as long as you check the instructors bio. good school house for sure in the mid lantic region

We regularly get good trainers out here, but they all have to travel. We have a couple ranges within a couple hours that do a good job of keeping good trainers showing up. My favorite so far was Jason Falla of redback one. I would like to take all there classe from pistol through precision rifle. Their motto is: subconscious weapons manipulation cold and on demand. He was probably my favorite trainer.
training has become huge, and part of the problem is some guys go get NRA certified to teach a class. That know less than you. So you really have to check out who your training with.
I have been able to shoot a handful of simunitions, but just at steel. I just wish as a civilian I could regularly buy them. I have only seen them for sale once in a blue moon, and usually its just the rounds.
yeah i played paintball for a while thinking it would sharpen my skills but the set is totally diff. it is more about number of paint balls fired rather than the skills it takes in real combat (not that i know what that is like either) but in sim training it feels real. you have a holstered glock17 and 2 spare mags and real world cover/concealment like cars or file cabinets. you cannot see where your projectile went. if you are hit you are not out of the game you are dead (analogously of course)
but paint ball i did pick up some good habits, and learned to move around corners, and present as small a target as possible when moving. so it is not all for naught
