Re: Personal Training at Planet Fitness

I can kind of understand a gym wanting to make money off personal training, thats fine. But if I want to meet a girl at the gym and show her how to workout, without charging her, then I should be able to do so without the gym getting butt hurt over it.
I miss the old school gyms where you could take a block of chalk and get chalk all over everything, you could scream and drop weights and walk around acting like a gorilla. Nobody cared. lol...Now days, it seems like the gyms are catering to the Silver Sneakers crowd.

I went one time in Daytona Beach. Place was like 2 minutes from my Hotel. I noticed the lunk alarm on the wall put 2 and 2 together. Place is a joke if you ask me.

I think it's disrespectful to the club not matter what club it is to do so without their permission. You are risking their business with your practices.

The thing everyone is missing on the point of training so some at a club is the insurance liability. That is the big issue here. If someone gets hurt they aren't gonna sue your broke ass they sue the club and the club owner. When I was a trainer I had to carry a one million dollar insurance policy to train folks.
One more question, would you go to a restaurant to eat and then go in the kitchen to cook the food ? No. Or picture this, you own a pizza place and I walk in you're dining area with two boxes of pizza and I hand out slices for free. Since I'm not charging for the pizza does that make it ok? No.

It is a good place for people who arent into it as hardcore as we are. But I still want to bring my X-rays of my leg and say " Please tell me the story of why you cant do squats with me again?"

most gyms now are going to the 19.99 with tanning or 9.99 without monthly deals...tell them to look at other chains before you jump into this...they revoke memberships at PF easily if they suspect you're costing them money by not being a min wage trainer on their staff and taking cash under the table
