haha i am not an old timer just yet but i am certainly no spring chicken either. and if we could learn and live the way they did for the most part our society would be a much better place

i agree but i will also say that it is possible in some places. depending on the family and what area of the south you are talking about their are still families that instill proper respect in their kids today. they respect their elders woman and have proper manners. oh wait most of those are older generation parents that are my age or in their 40s so i guess you are right. the men arent cut from the same cutter anymore.

Not to just pick on mene here but the same goes for Moms in this day and age. Like you said there are still some who instill thgose "old timer" ways, but less than more. I cant believe some of the things my daughters friends Mom do? Now I do not like to judge so I will just say that my opinion of some of their choices are not what I would choose for my girl.

I'm thankful my grandparents raised me, with old school values. I can literally count on one hand the people my own age I would consider to be a man.
