what are your favorite brands of ammo?

I usually use winchester white box target ammo and love it. I tried some tulamo brass maxx russian stuff. its cheap and it shoots great. also bought some of the steel case .223 for my AR. Will probably hang on to it and not use it for range time. not real fond of steel case ammo.

also freedom munitions has some GREAT products. i have shot both their 9mm, .45 and 5.56 and it is all top notch.

where do you get your ammo as well?

black hills my man. you wont find better ammo unless you hand load them yourselves. that is the best thing you can do is to hand load them puppes. remington and winchester both produce great ammo and the fail safe ones are also great but when i load each round by hand i know the exactly what i am putting through my weapons each and every time. yes i have a single dye one round at a time loader cause it was passed down to me and i am as old school as you get reloading

The steel case ammo will accelerate wear to the ejection port cause it is so hard. Any good brass case ammo is good

yes it will. but i have only put a couple hundred rounds of the steel case zinc coated ammo though my AR. i definitely prefer brass its just half the price and i like emergency ammo stocked up

I usually use Winchester white box for my target ammo and their PDX1 hollows for home defense. I've used so many differet brands, but have always had good luck with Winchester.

home defense stuff could be a diff thread. i use critical defense ammo for my pistols and the PDX in my shotty.

What ever is cheapest. For defense in my pistols i like spear gold dots unless my dad gives up some of his LEO only ammo to me.
For shotgun again what ever is cheapest. For defense i usually will use 00 buck.
