Just curious to see what others carry. If you live in a place you cant carry what would you carry if you could?
Im really interested in what brand, model and caliber and why.
Also do you carry with a light on the pistol or do you carry a light separate in your pocket or no light at all? do you carry separate mags?
Right now i carry a gen 4 glock 26. The reason i chose glock is because i grew up in a family with locks of law enforcement and therefor i am very comfortable and familiar with glock. I also know that my glock is going to fire every time i pull the trigger.
Another reason i chose the 26 is due to the the fact of its size. its small and easily concealable but yet not really small. I have large hands and the wider glocks actually fit better for me.
I also have the ability to switch magazine and capacity and extend the grip. I have the ability to carry standard 10 rounds magazines, 13, 15, 17, 19, 30, 33, 35 and they even have a 50 round drum for it lol Clearly anything over the 17 round is not concealable and more for range time or just plain messing around. I i never carry with bigger then a 17 round and even that is hard to conceal at times so 10, 13 and 15 are where i stay.
Final reason is because its 9mm, That means ammo is not to expensive. I just picked up 350 plink rounds for 119.99 and 20 gold dot for 27.99. cheaper ammo means more range time. that means im better and more accurate and more comfortable with my pistol. The other reason is there is not much kick with my 9mm. that means I can put more rounds down range accurately then something bigger.
Im going to pick up a glock 23 (.40) soon. That way i have a 9mm and a bigger .40 to carry. I will be more than happy with those two size pistols and calibers for my carry. .40 is even easier to get then 9mm by me so again more range time with that pistol.
As for the light and extra mags, my 26 cant have a light (no rails) and i dont carry a light in my pocket unless im out of town (somewhere im not familiar with) or think i may need it. i usually leave one in my car though. I will have a Viridian C5L that i will carry on my G23 though. I dont usually carry extra mags on my person but i usually will leave i high cap mag in my car so if im only carrying 10 rounds on the pistol i may carry a 17 round in the car.
