I like craiglist. I do a lot of business on the site but I also spend time on it because I find it to be a source of entertainment. Like this morning, for example. I was sitting at the breakfast table drinking coffee, trying to remember what I did yesterday when I remembered to check on a couple of 'or sale' ads I am currently running. In particular, my wife had me put an antique milk can on it to sell for her. It started out at $80 and slowly dwindled down to $50 over the course of the past 2 weeks due to an apparent lack of interest in the item. Finally, this morning, I had a bite. Someone sent me an email to make an offer on the can. Now, I've had people try to get a lower price because the condition of an item didn't quite live up to thier high standards, but I have NEVER had anyone haggle over price because the item was in TOO GOOD a conditon. Check it out...
and I qoute:
I'm interested in this milk can. I'm willing to purchase it for $25 if you are interested in selling it for this price. I'm looking for some that are a little more beat up with character for good prices as I'm looking to fix them up.
Thank you,
Tische'

Well, didn't have to ask the wife about taking the $25. Not gonna happen. Instead, I sent her a reply:
Thank you for your generous offer but my wife is unwilling to part with the can for the amount you offered. Instead, she has made a counter offer. She says that for $75 she will back the car over the can so that you can have a real challenge on your hands. Says she has to ask for slightly more money to cover her costs - car note, insurance, gas, maintenance, etc.
I'm waiting to hear back from her.
