  • Hangovers

How long does it take you guys to recover from a night out? I went tubing down a river on Sunday and Started drinking around 11am and finished up about 1am after the bar. I basically slept for about 15 hours yesterday while still trying to eat as much food as i can to keep calories up. I don't drink very much, maybe once or twice a month. But today I am still tired as hell. I planned a trip to the gym today but I am on the verge of falling asleep. Today will be skipped in preparation for tomorrow's HAM session.. Needless to say I don't care for drinking let alone the hangover but I would have been the only sober non-fun one out of the group so it is what it is.

Happy to say I have never had a hangover! I think as people get older, I hear that it takes longer to recover. AAS long as you had fun and it was worth it

It definitely gets worse the older you get. I haven't gotten smashed for a little while now.. last time was my buddies wedding out in Jersey. I think I was hung over for 2 days after that one.

I stopped drinking when I got married. I always saw booze a tool to get laid. We go out occassionally but I only drink enough to keep up the appearance.
I always got brutal hangovers even younger and never felt the recovery time was worth the fun... Unless I thought I was getting laid.

If I go out now, I usually only have a drink or two. AS I've gotten older I don't recover like I used to. I could stay out all night long and be just fine the next day. Now, if I just stay out too late (even without drinking) it seems like it takes me a week or so to recover lol.

Too long in terms of bodybuilding. I need to be focused 100% of the time to look my best. I understand that my vices are booze and sweets. If I drink booze, I crave sweets...and not just that night, but for a few days following. The next day makes me feel like crap, because when I drink, I do it right. I don't Eff around. Although, I never miss a workout due to drinking, I will say that my workouts are not nearly as good as when I get a restful nights sleep following a day of staying hydrated. I used to brag about how good of a drinker I was because I never got hangovers, now I just pity myself when I drink, because I know even tho I don't get a hangover (per-say) , I still set myself back substantially goal-wise every time I drink. I'd say that if I had the slightest bit of willpower when it came to booze, I'd have at least a 10% better physique than I do now. I am bigger than I've ever been and comparably as lean as I've ever been, but booze is really holding me back from reaching my goals.

i dont drink enough to get a hangover but if i drink one glass of red wine i will get a headache the next day. 2-3 beers a night is fine and if i drink water i am cool.

i reckon i dont drink much for fear of a hangover. as a kid i worked at jiffy lube hungover every saturday, puking in the catch tray and do it again that night. no more

                              Re: Hangovers

Alcohol makes you feel like crap because it is poison. I used to drink a lot for about 6 years after a divorce. I would get a hangover and just drink more booze to feel better. I was a regular at the local bars. One of the greatest days in my life is when I became a non drinker. In my mind I associated as much negativity to alcohol as I could. I never called myself alcoholic, but I certainly could have been called one. I didnt go to AA or anything, but the gym was my sanctuary. I vowed that I would never again under any circumstances consume alcohol. No matter what. Now I am in my 5th year of freedom from alcohol. Sometimes, its a little weird and not everyone thinks favorably of non drinkers. I meet girls who like to drink. I tell them I dont drink and sometimes they seem disappointed. LOL.
