Yes, but baby1, is there any reason it should be criminalized, just because you dont like it? Honestly, if people would substitute mary jane for alcohol, I think the world would be a much more peaceful place...Im not endorsing pot, Im just saying that if someone wants it, they shouldnt have to go to jail over it

Well if you look at all of the evidence and all of the information and history of it it's easier to come to a conclusion. It's hard for people to make a judgment on it simply going by what they've been told or programmed to think, especially if they've never used it before. I layed out a few examples on why it's a good idea, and if you research you will find many others more educated than I that will give plenty good reason. The real question is, what are the reasons, plausible and factual, that it would be a bad idea.

I still dont get why you think it should be a criminal offense...people are more likely to fall asleep at the wheel a nd kill someone by taking benadryl or prescription ambien...So people should also be thrown in jail for taking testosterone? It might make someone go crazy and kill people with road rage, that is if you believe what bill oreilly says about steroids...we are not talking about irresponsible use of marijuana...And I dont smoke marijuana but why should the government criminalize someone who wants to take it in the privacy of their own home???????
Please explain why you think they should go to jail??????

OMT, we are talking about a weed here..sure some people are going to make money off it, but from what I hear, it is easy as pie to grow your own marijuana in the privacy of your own home...FREE!!!!!! No taxation, no criminal drug dealers to deal with, no middle man, no government interfering in your private life...same thing if someone wants to brew their own testosterone for their own personal use...someone could go to prison for that..WHY???????

PEOPLE ABUSE EVERYTHING AND I'M NOT HER TO CHANGE YOUR MIND ON MARIJUANA I ONLY TRY AND CHANGE PEOPLES MIND ON BLOJAMA. BUT ITS A DRUG THAT ALTERS YOUR BRAIN FUCTION AND YOUR MOTOR SKILLS TO WHERE YOU CAN GET HURT. SURE THERE ARE LEGAL STUFF THAT COULD DO THEM SAME BUT LIKE I SAID ANOTHER THING SHOULDNT BE LAGALIZED AND WHAT KIND OF CHAOS WE WOULD HAVE IF IT WAS. BUT WE CAN DISCUSS IT BUT IT WONT EVER PASS . ITS BEEN ILLEGAL FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND SHOULD STAY ILLEGAL. SHOULD SOMEONE GO TO JAIL IF THEY HAD A GRAM ON THEM OR A 8TH OR 1/4 NO BUT WE HAVE LAWS IN PLACE AND WE HAVE TO ABID BY. THE LAWS OF THE CONSTITUTION. YOU WANT TO GET HIGH DO IT THE OLD FASHION WAY AND HAVE A FRIEND HOOK YOU UP THATS SIMPLE. GET CAUGHT WITH A LARGE QUANITY AND PAY THE PRICE BECAUSE NOT THRES INTENT TO SELL. AND DAVE YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING THAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE WRAPPED UP IN LITTLE BAGGIES LIKE THE PEOPLE IN THE GHETTO SELL IT TO YOUNG KIDS AND THEY SCREW UP THERE LIVES. YOU MAKE IT LEGAL IT WILL GET OUT OF CONTROL JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE HAS. PLUS NWHAT MANOR WOMEN HERE WOULD AMOKE IT IN FRONT OF THERE CHILDREN OR AGREE FOR THEM TO SMOKE IT THATS INSANE. I'LL COME OVER AND BLOW THE SMOKE IN YOUR 6MONTH OR 1YR BABYS FACE AND THEN TELL ME WHAT DOC IS GOING TO SAY THATS OK OR WHAT PARENT.

                    Re: Legal marijuanas biggest foe

I wouldn't call them evil since they don't put a gun to your head and force you to buy their products. Free market = free choice. None of the above are harmful if used in moderate amounts. As for pot, I can't believe its not legal. This is a debate that people allow their emotions to shape their views instead of common since. It is a fact that people will buy their drugs whether legal or illegal, and it is also a fact that if they buy them illegally the money goes to cartels either directly or indirectly. Thus, legalized marijuana leads to less cartels and therefore less crime. Crime decreases because the users don't have to resort to the black market to buy their pot. But this never goes over well with those who are against pot, even though alcohol is by far more dangerous on health and leads to more fights and problems in social lives. This is a useless topic to discuss because the facts have been available for decades but people's minds never seem to change. People against pot don't want to consider any of the facts, plain and simple. I don't smoke it and never will but I realize that it would reduce crime while allowing states to increase their revenues. Additionally, we wouldn't have jails full of people that committed a minor possession or intent to distribute pot charge. There are many otherwise law abiding citizens who smoke pot and still maintain a regular productive life, yet they have to worry about being busted for something they prefer for a high over alcohol. Also, what is the difference in pot and steroids besides the high effect? Both are illegal yet some will maintain a conservative view on one and not the other. So one is okay and should be allowed because some prefer to use it, but since those same people don't like pot they stand as hypocrites in favor of one being legalized and not the other. Or they contend that using steroids properly and at moderate dosages leads to safe use of the banned substance. Conversely, those same people will not hear of the same argument for pot. This is a clear case of hypocrisy, no offense to those who are guilty but I feel the need to point it out. Why is it that people will favor freedom of choice to use one banned substance but not support the choice of someone else to use a different banned substance. I don't care what the effects are, whether mind altering for one and not for the other, it comes down to a person's ownership of their body and the right to ingest whatever they want. The rants about crime have no place here because it already exists and can only diminish if pot were legal. Furthermore, there has been a war on drugs for decades and we all know how unsuccessful that has been.

It's simple really. People have to buy it illegally on the black market which gives cartels wealth and power. If it's legal they would not exist if the prices are low enough to keep people buying it legally. A good example that cannot be disputed is in your home state in the city of Chicago where Al Capone controlled the alcohol black market. How much crime came of that? But once alcohol was legalized the crime went away for the most part, at least in regard to purchasing and distributing it. This is the most clear example I can point to. To say that the same wouldn't hold true for marijuana is just not true. Put pot in the stores and tax it and watch how fast crime goes down. The cartels can't sell it if there aren't people willing to buy it. And if the price is fair people will resort to the legal means of acquiring it rather than the illegal means. Plus, the quality would likely be higher if it were legal, which would further prompt people to buy it legally.

Great, so let's make another thing legal that can do the same thing.

                            Re: Legal marijuanas biggest foe

"a useless topic" I do agree Js. It's down right ridiculous.
There is actually a blend of herbs that are sold at head shops around the country that do the exact same thing as pot. There are states and cities that have already illegalized it, but not mine. You wouldn't believe it until you tried it, but it does the same thing as THC. It hits the C21 and C2 receptors just as THC, and does it all, down to the munhies a couple hrs later. It's legal and packaged in like dave explained he believed it should be. I just got informed of this new blend a few wks ago, so I'm behind of course. It's been here for a cpl yrs. While there have only been a few people go to the hospital because they didn't realize how potent it was, so they wigged out a little. There have been 40,000 alcohol related deaths in the same amount of time in FL. The poeple that wigged ou a little were fine of course after the high wore off. I'm sure those people were not familiar with the phychic terrain of THC either, or they would've rode-it-out. And for those concerned about children burning it. No reports of underage usage what-so-ever. "But that's against the rules. If drugs are legalized, then children become involved..."blah blah always. Nope. As a mater of fact. This little real life scenario hs proven otherwise.
Now to the sweet part about legal pot opposed to meds. For those of us that suffer from anxiety. No more calcium spurs on your bones from xanax. No more panic from missing a dose. And I have someone clos to me that's suffering some extreme symptoms from a disease she must live with. She's never tried pot. She a clean woman, that's never been into anything illegal. And now, with this disease, she's having to take powerful meds with bad sides. Toxic medicine indeed. I've witessed the effects. These meds weren't working for her on the bad days. After reading up on the relief that THC has on a plethoraof illnesses and ailments, I took it upon myself to help this woman out. I only got enough "help" for a few days, but weed completely eliminated her terrible pains and symptoms. Without all the bullshit harsh side effects. She was herself again for ab0out a week. Because, sadly, there are well informed doctors, congressmen, and voters that are more concerned with their bank statements from toxic meds than the better health and wellness of the people.
Watching that 1st hand. Actually seeng the proof of all that I already knew. (I wrote a report on weed in my stoner high-school days, so I knew what was up). But it is nothing short of criminal to keep such a wonderful herb off the options for anyone. It's sick. It's utterly disgusing. It's nothing but for the best interest of the fat-cat med companies and big government funding. "No no. We can't have an almost cover-all medicine that someone can grow in their own time." down right disgusting. "We can't have weed killing profits." sick. disturbing.
Marijuana has harmed no-one. It's strictly political business. Propaganda has skewed the average American's view on these issues beyond reason now. So I'm afraid that we have people, that even after becoming informed on THC, would still stand against it and call themselves conservative. A conservative view, that is not. O no! the right plays wrd games too. Because if you're not being conservative, then you're not being constitutioal. Scheduling THC was unconstitutional. That was a move by progressives. Opposite of conservative, and to hold it down is absolutely progressive governing.
Nanny, progressive, leftist, commi governng. For anyone to think they know better than you, and that they should enforce critical decisions that pertain to every individual's life, such as regulating items eliminating your freedom.
*Forgive the errors. My brain isn't firing yet. I couldn't even finish my 1st coffee because I got too inspired by this. Oh no. Don't regulate my coffee because it kicks my body in gear.
