Please, I know exactly what point your trying to make. But, look at your analogy in reference to current events, as that is the reference point to this post, correct?

I simply think the analogy trivializes the issue. I appreciate the creativity, and maybe it is applicable with respect to certain events. However, not with respect to this post or to the matter at hand.

I am also not of the view that the UN (the older brother) will be able to solve problems of this magnitude. I think their track record speaks for itself.

In the case at hand, put the shoe on the other foot- America as the boy with the broken toy (terrorism), and the UN as the older brother. Let the boy solve it own problems, as the US is doing.

You re-read my post? But in both of your replies you quoted the whole responce anyway. It was only like 5 sentances!

Look, don't insult me, I'm not stupid. Re-read this thread (I'm making you do alot of re-reading hey), when I posted that post there was some debate as to why other countries don't like the US. It's my belief it was the american forein policy that's at fault and offered an Analogy. Besides, the post said right in it it was about forein security, so it shouldn't matter what the rest of the posts were about anyway. If you're pissed cause I was off topic, then say so. Don't try to use "off-topic" to explain your mistake/misunderstanding.

Anyway, was this whole post about how bad my analogy was and to insult me or do you have something relevant to the debate to add?
