    Re: big 3 bailout...

I have worked union and non-union and I won't sit here and blame the unions for the problem. The unions keep the big companies in check. If it weren't for them- we'd all be making min. wage. Those big CEO's and such have been lining their pockets long enough with the monies earned by hard working Americans. They(unions) fight for Health insurance-Pensions-Pay, while the big boys give themselves record raises and bonuses- fly around on compay jets- and enjoy the highlife. I think the big issue here is the same thing we all face at home, In good times she should store away the extra so when bad times come we have enough, but they have been living high on the hog making record profits and now their sucking wind. This is why I say no bailout( they aint giving me one for bad decisions). They need this to correct themselves and learn to run more effecient. I will say this- if they do recieve a bailout- they need to make stipulations as to pay cuts for the Ceo's and freezes on raises and bonuses for them as well- someone needs to oversee the spending

i dont disagree with you about the unions bro!! jeez...your compairison aint apples to apples. in the 80's. there was ATLEAST 4x's the auto worker. your right, when times were good and they threatened to strike, they (the big3) would cave. not like you can shut down a production line for very long before you start loosing more of a market share!! what was peolple to do in the 80's in regards to coal bro....start buying japanese coal? it's not really the same is it? again...i dont disagree about the unions (deep...you sound like my dad, lol) they HAD a purpose...it's LONG past their time! how's that gonna address the prob NOW! right NOW!
your other point about 25bil not lasting more than a quater or 2...you could be very right there too! but...i can imagine that they (the big3) are looking at it much like me. i need 1800 bucks to pay my mortgage this month bro. no shyt! it aint paid! i need 1800....i gotta try to do what i can do to get that 1800. is that gonna pay my mortgage next month? nope. hopefully, by next month, my game plan starts to kick in and i'll be better off! hopefully by next month, the banks loosen up, even, ever so slightly, so i can hang some contacts, sell some cars and make a paycheck!! hopefully....right now...the next 2weeks are in my view. i gotta game plan. hopefully, it'll go as planned....just gotta get through the next 2 weeks. (get my point?)

(oh...and true story if you got 1800 laying around...i'd like to apply for a LOAN with you...no banks are lending money!)

well dave my view point on it is if the big 3 can come up with a restructuring plan ...a solid one, and convince us that the 8 billion they are going to get will pull them over the hump, then im all 4 it...seems like to me they just want a handout though..if they would have parked the jets and flew COACH, then we the people would have been alot more understanding..at least the banks waited until they had the money to start flaunting it,lol

oh yea...i'm sure they did....or, atleast the media didnt take notice of shyt like that untill after they had the money....
whatever's gonna happen, is gonna happen.

fuk it...i can sell jap auto's. shyt...if deepsouth, in the heart of texas, baught a f150 wannabe, for more money, with less towing, less power, not as comphy in the rear passenger area, same mpg, smaller cargo area and less smoother, less stable ride...then i know damn well i can smoke plenty of folks into buying one of those!

Ford F-150 vs. Toyota Tundra Review

How the Ford F-150 stacks up against the Toyota Tundra - by Nigel Cooper, Topanga CA

            2009 Ford F-150
            Price Range: $17,900 - $35,630

            2008 Toyota Tundra
            Price Range: $22,390 - $42,170

Ford F-150 vs. Toyota Tundra Review

            Handling
The Ford F-150 and the Toyota Tundra have approximately similar tires. With their comparable turning circles, the Toyota Tundra and the Ford F-150 most definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.
            Drivetrain
The Ford F-150's engine is substantially more massive than the Tundra's. Note that more sizeable engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Ford F-150 is markedly more powerful than the Toyota Tundra. The Toyota Tundra could learn a lesson or two from the Ford in terms of torque.
            Utility
The Ford and the Toyota Tundra can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Ford F-150 is likely a better choice than the Toyota Tundra when it comes to transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of cargo or sizeable pets. Towing is significantly more the Ford F-150's forte than it is the Tundra's.
            Convenience
You'll most definitely take the Toyota Tundra for a fill-up approximately as often as the F-150.
            Comfort
While the front cabin in the F-150 offers a bit more head room than the Toyota Tundra, there really isn't much of a difference. The F-150 provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Toyota Tundra does.
            Dimensions
The Ford F-150 is somewhat heavier than the Toyota Tundra. The Toyota Tundra's tank is approximately the same size as the Ford's, though the F-150's is somewhat bigger. The Toyota Tundra rides lower than the Ford, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The Toyota Tundra and the F-150 compete for the same parking spaces. The Toyota's shorter wheelbase will give a more agile feel in daily traffic. On the flip side, the Ford is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.
            Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Toyota Tundra is markedly cheaper to get to the dealership than the Ford F-150. The Ford F-150 doesn't pale in comparison to the Toyota Tundra with respect to fuel economy. The Ford F-150 won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Toyota Tundra. The F-150 is an affordable speedster.
            Overview
The Toyota Tundra and the Ford F-150 have the same basic warranty.

You crack me uip Dave- Here the real truth on Toyota verses Ford F-150. I haven't found a stock ford to get close enough to me to compare. That little revamped Chevy 350 under my hood produces 381hp- just a tad bit more than the Ford. My speed limiter also does kick in until 115-120mph unlike the Ford @95mph. I have larger disc brakes.

I just looked at the ford website at there biggest and badest F-150: Toyota Tundra:
                  HP- 320 / 381 Toy
                  Torque-390 / 401 Toy
                  Compression-9.8:1 / 10.2:1 Toy
                  Payload-1660 / 1680 Toy
                  Towing-9500 / 10,600 Toy

Now I sorry- you were saying they compare how???LOL Ford aint even close unless you pull a Lightning or SRT up next to me- your wasting my time. Here is the link for you:

Oh here is a pic of my Big 4:::

                  And the wifes little toy-LOL:

But on a good note Dave- here is some pic of my last truck:

                    Re: big 3 bailout...

ok bro...i guess, to me, jap fullsize trucks are the bubblebee can of tuna fish of the auto idustry. you ever buy bumblebee tuna? it's kinda like the real thing, but with a few exeptioon...
first of all, they set the lid just a taaaad futher down into the can, so your can opener can juuuust get at it.
then, once you have the thing pop of track a couple times, you finally get it open and prceed to squeeze the "spring" water it is packed in.
as you place your thumb on the upper portion of the lid and the bottom portion, trying ever so dilegently to evenly apply the pressure needed to squeeze out the water, the lid bow's in the middle and you start loosing your tuna into the sink.
you try to correct this buy placing a thumb more towards the center, but now the tuna oozes out near the bottom end, to continue to fall into the sink.
now, realizing that you got NO WHERE NEAR the amout of juice out of this can that you needed, you proceed to think of alternatives to get some more juice out of her... so, you empty the can into a paper towel, figuring you can squeeze the paper towl and that will absord the water. (at this point, you may need 2 paper towels). you figure that, that aught to be acceptable water removal so your samich aint all soggy an shyt, so you proceed to put your tuna in a bowl and add your mayo. now...its time that you can enjoy your 3/4 can of tuna fish/paper towel fibre sandwich.
the f150?..it's more along the lines of the starkist can of the tuna industry...ya ever buy starkist bro?...now thats a fukin can!!! you'd have to actually work your a$$ off just to dent the fuker! it feels so much more like a solid can too, dont it?
after removing the lid, you can squash the SHYT out of that tuna fish!!...you can work that fuker and work that fuker and squeeze every drop of juice out of her...squeeze and squeeze, push and push as you might and the lid stays solid as a rock! nothing works like a starkist tuna can!!!
and..when youve squeeze the shyt out of it, to the poijnt that your thoroughly satisfied with the juice content of you tuna...mix your mayo, throw it on a couple piece's of toast, slap some cheese on that fuker and throw it into the toaster oven for a minute or 2 and you know what you got!! one hell of a sandwich!!!

that about sums up my opinion of jap trucks...looks like the real thing. the words printed on paper about it reads like its the real thing...but it aint quite the same as the real deal.
they can try to make a ford f150 all they want bro. even put their factory in ford country to play into their fantasy more....but it just aint gonna hunt the same as the real dog!

I would like to see them get rid of the unions. That is the main problem imo. The airlines unions worked out paycuts to keep their jobs, but the autoworkers unions refuse. That would make me more comfortable with a bailout or loan. But it does not seem fair to bail out banks but not the big 3 either.
